Doing DED sites in null with current war in the North

So with the war in the North, is it safer or more dangerous to do DED sites and escalations? I thought safer because Goons are camped in and there are no roaming gangs.

But I thought more dangerous because the concentration of forces are trying to camp Goons in. *shrug*
