Ratting fit for Angel sites (Ishtar)

Hello,

I'm trying to look for a ship / fit to do Angel sites. I know they do exp/kin dmg but on the Angel website they mention that the battleship class ships will do EM+Therm DMG if the security status is -0.7 or higher.

Can anyone perhaps recommend a type of drone boat with fit or something equivalent that can withstand those type of rats?

Gila, Rattlesnake, Ishtar, Dominix. those are all drone boats, otherwise Machariel is a favorite, Autocannons deal very good explosive damage with Hail (T2) and stands up to that sort of damage very well. While still being fast and nimble being an angel ship itself.

From what I've heard, Angels still deal a majority Kin/explosive and only 10% of it is EM and 10% Thermal, so you really don't need that much tank for it.

Ideas for missile launchers to make firing missiles more interesting/rewarding

Thanks for the response Aluanna. I tested the theory and sat in a site and measured the actual incoming from various rats. When I searched for more specifics around the type from which I took more dmg, the stats confirmed that the one deals EM and the other Therm, and that's why the fitting gets difficult to manage if the sec status is -0.7 and higher

So essentially, you need a ship with an omni tank? shield or armor fit? which would you prefer?

how close are you sitting in the site?

a couple quick things since you seem new to the forums. don't post the same topic over several forum sections (ISDs no likey). And post in the right place, Ships and modules (where you posted this same topic ) is good, Missions and Complexes is better.

As for angel ratting, sec status does not matter. Most angels do Explosive and some kin damage, while a few (like this Angel Cherubim) shoot EM or Therm missiles in addition to the normal damage. You can check out the website in that link for the various types of rats you will encounter in angel sites. The bottom line is to yes, tank for explosive/kin but also tank a bit for em and therm too, not quite omni tanking, but close.

The ishtar is alright for ratting, but jsut alright. Keep it out of havens and sanctums now as there are new NPC capital ship spawns that will kill an ishtar before it can warp. I recommend a battleship that can mount an Micro jump drive. The MJD doesn't get you out of DPS range, but it does get out out of web and point range of the NPC Dread so you can warp off and maybe come back with help if you do choose to do havens and sanctums. This is how I do angel space.Twisted

If you stick to hub level anoms (Angel Hub, Angel forsaken hub etc) you should be fine. Use Bouncers against angels.
