This things are amazing.
Provide, lot of fun and require something more than just single faction battleship to kill it.
This how eve PVE should look like in Nullsec - we need more features like this in future.

Ps.
You made me rat in sov first time in last few years.
Income is small, but fun compensate it all

That is until you kill a rat Titan, I think it's worth like 360 mil?

I'm sorry, i'm not trying to be mean, but damn is it funny to watch the tears of all the people who got used to the old "semi-afk just watch local" lifestyle that's been in null since Dominion (when ccp introduced respawning anoms in upgraded systems).

Not only did CCP up the profitability of null with these caps, they did it in a way that potentially *slows down the massive afk bounty isk faucet and encourages people to at least fleet up to do anomalies. The exploding pve ships of people not smart enough to adapt to the new reality is an added plus.

* I say slow down because CCP didn't go far enough. This capital spawns should be in hubs (regular, forsaken, forlorn etc) as well, leaving them only in sanctums and havens just shifts the afktars to forsaken hubs and that's still not optimal.

I'd say 2 things to CCP:

#1. See the tears of the afk crowd CCP? This is what happens when you give people stuff that is too easy, then later take it away. The smarter thing to do is not give people easy, afk-able stuff to begin with.

And #2 (this is the big one). The very good outcome of adding NPC caps demonstrates how you (CCP) should be thinking about PVE in this game. You didn't add any fancy new AI, no convoluted new 'dungeons' (like you did with incursions which few people do) or 'space that has a different affect on ships' (like in Wormholes, where few people live). This time You didn't add super-invincible "interesting" NPCs (Drifters, which almost no one screws with because they are too annoying).

You simply took pretty much existing PVE mechanics that you know is popular because you see how much we do it and added extra risk and extra reward to it. I've been saying this for a long time, stop wasting your time listening to these pie in the sky PVE complainers who want soloable but safe 'immersive' PVE that's not compatible with the game. Give us sandbox PVE , like these npc capitals the encourage social interactions and conflict (people are already fighting over npc capital spawns).

I have not yet had a chance to see the NPC caps but this is great content.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Blocked: Teckos Pech, Sonya Corvinus, baltec1, Shae Tadaruwa, Wander Prian, Daichi Yamato, Jonah Gravenstein, Merin Ryskin, Linus Gorp

My first encounter was helping someone out. Warped at 150km and got 12k volley 3 seconds later.

I think, that's is a cool feature.

But I also think, that the droprate of the Dreadnoughts is too high. Not everybody can fight against Dreadnoughts I think and not everytime stand up a fleet to fight against Dreadnoughts. So there is a risk, that many sites are blocked.

The correct dosage is important, I think.

This is nullsec, dreads show up in belts, and on havens or sanctums.
Newbie players don't do havens or sanctums - and even if they do - this finally put some pressure for hunting it in groups.
Spawn rate is not high, when you take into consideration how many capital modules need to be build.
If CCP will reduce chance of escalation with ability to get this spawn - this will also solve some other issues.
When the escalation roll is made you can get 50% this capital or real escalation.
Even 75% for the capital could be really nice - they are amazing.
Instead of player doing safely escalation, we have people counter-drooping multiple capitals Pirate

This is nullsec, not a guy in a pair of BO running escalations.

One of those (Erebus class) spawned in a belt in O1Y the night before last, even with the low bounty for the size of the ship, I could tell watching the video that all the newbros were having a blast killing it.

So has anybody seen a capital NPC in a low sec yet? Belt or anom.

Can understand they appear in null, but according to patch notes they should be in low as well. 2 days in and we have yet to see any, but did get several faction, Mordu's and clone spawns.

We've had a few in our Nullsec area...and they pack a punch. They will take a team effort.

They also spawn in Ice Belts. One of the ways I make ISK besides Exploration and PI is Mining Ore and Ice in Nullsec.

Safe to say with what I have been hearing, we will need SOMETHING done with Mining Ships to allow them to escape these new Cap Rats.

Not complaining by the way. I just don't want to have to lose profitability as I train for combat-based PvP ships.

If what they wanted was to stop afk ratting, they could of just killed afk ratting. It's not rocket science to realise content is afk-able because drones auto-aggro...

We"ve had a bunch of them spawn in catch , our couple of systems alone have seen 5 so far , mostly in belts and we usually needed a cap ourselves to take it out cause the sansha ones heavy neut and the dps is immense ... But good fun , no cap bpc drops though...not yet atleast

Faction capitals won't come out till next major patch and the Serpentis will be the first to get them.

Seems the info so far is that they drop the components needed to make the new faction capital modules. Not sure if they drop the bpc for the modules as well, they might come from ghost sites (would make running data sites worth it again).

And still nothing on low sec spawns.

Not seen these yet...
But I recall the days when I was a relative newbie out in Catch, with no money and very low applicable skills (but something of an understanding of game mechanics) - belt ratting in a Thorax. It took a long while to grind down the 1.1 mil battleship spawns but it was possible.

The question is, are the "complaints" about the capital rats all coming from people who dropped their TV to 0 and then wondered why they got shot - or are they really blocking newer players from null?

So for the longest time I've been a PVE carebear, and I would love to see LESS Solo PVE content in the game..

Though I would instead like to see MORE Group PVE content.. aka missions, anoms, combat sites/whatnot with fights that require a fleet, not a big one, but some sort of fleet, preferably of the variety that cannot be boxed..

Tone down the ISK faucet that is Solo PVE content and tone up the group PVE content, and at least try to make it so you can't just grab two characters and box it as that would defeat the purpose and probably make it an even worse isk faucet..

Perfct idea with far from good introduction.
"+"
1. New content. New fun, new emotions. I see no problems with that kills
and that's it

"-"
1. No wreck
2. No cap modules in wreck (where can it be taken? Does anybody knows?)
3. That strange thing in container... What should i do with it?
4. They are broken. I've added sansha dred to my overwiev three times! Why not add them to the simple NPC pirate group in overwiev? I guess that it is a reason why people have lost their ships. Cause dreadnaught remains "invisible" in over, you got boom and kill report. That is a bug without any doubts. I guess that CCP should compensate all dead ships, who have not locked them.

Well, i applause in general. This caps makes game more fun and our more chalanging.
But CCP, why it is so unfinished? Please, make it work properly!

So question for people that have already encountered one. Are they a challenge at all for a carrier, or are they a complete pushover like most NPCs vs. their capsuleer counterparts?
