It's called "getting fights". You don't want lowsec to turn stale now, would you?

Damn straight a T1 frig is an uphill fight but it's also dirt cheap and expendable to get your PvP on before getting into bigger ships.

Although the "they're after noobs" paranoia is exaggerated. We're after everything that moves, really. After awhile you get to know the locals, who flies with links, who has a backup fleet nextdoor, favourite ships and all that. The Lay of the Land. Get to know it.

i dont understand what you mean by "cant commit to a corp" corps know people have rl, its not like sov bears where you get daily cta's, lowsec/fw corps dont really do that, corps are very laid back so i just cant get my head round people saying they cant commit to corps. nobody forces you to login but when you do you will usually have something to do, and learn.

not all lowsec systems are gatecamped, very few gatecamps happen, only usually on trade routes/busy systems, learn to avoid them.

never seen a camped plex entrance tbh.

As a pirate i dont look at player age, ill shoot anyone and anything that shows on my overview

Domination Nephilim - Angel Cartel

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

-Hisec systems near FW areas are "base-camped", it means opposite faction players stay docked with expensive ships, usually 2/3 persons, when lonely players of opposite faction undock they undock too, kill the person then quickly dock.
They usually use very explensive ships around 1 bil, they can kill other with nearly zero risk.

I'll try to give you a few criticisms that might improve your EVE experience.

This here i quoted is your first mistake. You want to pew pew in FW, you MUST live in low sec, not in hi sec. It will save you a lot of useless explosions. I see a lot of the cal mil newbros trying to live in Noruv and the like, and come to black rise thruh Tama. Worst ******* idea ever. Same goes for the other major entrances from hi sec. Pack your stuff and move to a system where a friendly militia corp is living, your quality of life will instantly improve.

- Lowsec systems are often gatecamped, so it's even hard to arrive to a plex...

they really are not, except a few that make sense camping. You just have to learn which are those gates and be prepared. Also militias have public intel channels, gatecamps are usually reported there, so if you pay attention you'll know where they are.

- When you are lucky to arrive to a plex, the plex gate is often gatecamped in particular during rush hours. I've found up to 3 ships camping entrances.

-When you finally enter the plex, after some time you can easily notice that every veteran that enters a system immediately check novice plexes, you see a new player in the systems and seconds later you're almost sure you can dscan his ship outside plex checking if there can be a easy prey inside. Then they may enter or not, depending what they see inside. If you are using a t1 ship you're almost sure they enter to kill you.

well, we're all here to get fights xD

btw, people will check plexes from afar, no need to get outside the gate to dscan it, i hope you're aware of this and do it. Warping blind to a plex can e dangerous. BTW you shouldn't have a problem getting inside a "gatecamped" plex, just warp at 10km, and spam the accel gate button, in a frig you'll get inside no problem.

So for what I've seen so far, being this FW extremely hard for a newbie and extremely frustrating, having at least the opportunity to be attacked by a "decently similar" ship when managed to enter a plex alive would be something extremely positive for newbies FW experience.

yes it can be if you fly solo. I know it well, i did it. Then i got better, better SP (you don't need much really, i got my first solo kill when i couldnt even fit t2 guns), better knowledge, better piloting, better fits. It will all come togheter.

And i want to reiterate a thing. A super novice plex won't give you a chance to win. T1 vs T1 won't be a fair fight between a newbro and a veteran. If i come in there, i will most likely murder you, because my ship performs better with my SPs, but mostly because i know exactly what can do what and how to fly it to do it best. You can be sure if i warp into your T1 whatever it will be with a T1 whatever killer, and this kind of plex would make you a really obvious prey.

What you need to do if to find a hard counter to the fits you usually fit, and then build a ship around that concept, possibly making it non obvious.

I'm still waiting for you to post the fits you use so we can improve on them btw

@Doctor Knuckles

Thank you for your explanatory post, this is the kind of attitude that can be helpful for newbies.

I haven't a fit to show yet, but for my still little experience, it's much much easier to do soome novice plexes with a kiting ship.

I'm using a very low dps condor at the moment, and I was able to escape 4/5 times from a sure death without leaving the plex, but simply keeping me at a good distance from pirates inside the plex.

I've already lost some condors but, even if I was unable to kill ships, I'm learning how to manual pilot and I'm clearly learning that if there is another ship on the grid it doesn't mean I'm automatically killed.

I don't know if anoyone else experienced in a similar way, but so far I'm comfortable in a kiting ship.

Use of D-Scan, @ short. & F10 Map, set to statistics watching kills & activity levels of your surrounding systems.

If you're getting whelped by PVP veterans, you might want to set your sights a little lower and target non-PVPers in low sec, like FW farmers in plexes. You can outfit a cheap ship with 3*warp scramblers (maybe a Merlin) and since most farmers lack DPS and tank, you should win easy. Part of PVP is choosing your battles.
