Hey folks bear with me with the bad english.

What I am consern about is that it will come out to late, if you do a search on google you will now find that they are talking about release late in 2012 mybe 2013.

Have also heard that other games also is planning to have interaction between pc and consol, so if CCP is planning on getting their money invested back they must begin the privat trial soon and release more info on gameplay and other things around that game. Looks like they whont comment most dust 514 post and are waiting for the right moment to stagger us.

What must be clear is that the interrest is awaken in many gaming comunitys and gamers , but the interesst will not last forever , I will wait but I do not whant to play the game alone Big smileBig smile

Please let us see some development .

I've said it once and I'll say it again.

Dust 514 is ****** from day 1 just because it is a PS 3 exclusive.

Not making it for the PC (where, by the way, Eve Online, the game that made you what you are, CCP, you ungrateful sellout morons, is played) was a brain dead mistake.

Dust will be going against COD and Halo, both of which have huge fan bases that not even Battlefield3 was able to fight against MW 3, and Battlefield has a huge fan base and history.

When I first heard about Dust, I was super mega hyped, but then you dumbasses decided to make it console only, which is a surefire way to make me and thousands of other Eve players not want to touch it.

That being said, I ******* hate consoles, and no wonder how much I love eve, I won't buy a **** console just to play Dust, I have an 8k € PC for that.

Inappropriate signature, CCP Phantom.

I'm not sure, but wasn't the release date to be mid-2012? Moving it to beginning of 2013 isn't really a big move in the games industry.

I am a bit worried ther's no buggy/crap/unplayable closed beta yet, but I guess if it's not possible, it means it's not possible.

No word has been given saying that Dust514 is being moved back, Private trials are starting soon.

To Freezehunter, suck it up, they wanted to do something different, they wanted to try something new. Just because it wasn't made for you doesn't mean it won't be good. it's a PS3 exclusive because sony said they would help and microsoft said no, plain and simple.

I refer you to this podcast http://dust514base.blogspot.com/2011/12/vandv-podcast-episode-31-with-ccp.html Dropbear and Headfirst are great and explain why Dust514 will pull in it's own base.

Flame if you wish, not for pc, ps3 only, 2 years from now sony will launch the ps4 none of these have any bearing on how Dust will perform, nor on CCP itself.

www.dust514stats.com do you know?

Just like any business they are trying to expand their customer base. Making it for the PS3 opens the eve universe to a market that couldn't access it before.

Much like eve competes with World of Warcraft and The Old Republic on the PC? Just because a game is not the most successful game in a genre doesn't mean that it is not a success.

The fact that you were excited about the game to begin with surely proves that the game has appeal, just because you refuse to buy a console doesn't make a difference to the other 50 million PS3 owners out there who could very well find the game just as appealing as you once did.

On a side note, last I read the release date for dust was set for mid 2012, no where have I read that it has been pushed back or likely to be pushed back, a link would be great.

I think it will be a great game, but we need to get more info, if you see on the official homesite its updated once a month nearly and that is not much, I do not think that beeing supercool and dont say and comment nothing is the way to go, and I do sucribe to twitter and facebook and other blog.

I am so looking forward to this and I am not affraid about the 2000 eveplayers that Will play it, its the 15000 players that would like to play it but get tiered of waiting, there have been some games in the history that have had that faith.

I am myself very consern of very good grapich and gameplay it must be very good , its not good enough with 2011 grapich in 2012. Big smileBig smile

You forgot that PC players can and will play multiple MMOS (I play SWTOR and Eve, and I used to play WoW up until a few months ago, then I got sick of it and deleted all my characters and destroyed my authenticator).

However, it is a well know fact that in terms of FPS games, console gamers only give a **** about the next COD or the current COD.

That being said, even if a lot of people get Dust, which I seriously doubt, they will forget all about it and it's microtransaction bullshit as soon as the next COD game is released.

CCP should have made Dust on the PC, just look at the **** ton of money Team Fortress 2 is making for Valve, and Battlefield Heroes for EA.

I've never seen a FPS with microtransactions on consoles that was successful, and DLC for COD is not considered MT.

You can buy a PS3 2nd hand for less money that it costs to upgrade to the latest graphics card.

Some people underestimate the amount of people who have PS3's and will play a quality 1st person shooter for half the price of a AAA title, that will be constantly updated for free, and expanded for free. And where each battle is meaningful in a bigger picture and the maps aren't repetitive corridors. And you get to fly gunships and drive tanks!!!!

Even if Dust 514 peaks at 1000 active users a day it will be a success in terms of dust/eve interaction.

As an eve player you have nothing to lose by Dust existing. There is no reason for the pathological Dust hate.

If your jealous about the xbox thing, man up and buy a 160gb PS3 (which costs less than an iPod touch, iPad and most good mobile phones). And as for the controller, I use my xbox controller on my ps3 cus I have a converter.

As for the whole "should be on the PC " thing. I played Planetside the ability to make wall hacks and CoF hacks ruined the game a lot more than the BFRs did.

EVE doesn't compete with those games. I would not even call TOR a real MMO. EVE certainly has a different market than WoW as well. DUST is exactly the same type of game as BF3 except that is has a connection to a PC game. The people who will actually enjoy DUST for its core gameplay (IE the shooting) are the same people who play BF3 and it does not look like it will be even half as good as that game :|

Interesting idea! But poor gameplay. Sort of the same as I think of EVE. Super interesting idea, which keeps the boring gameplay fun enough for me to keep playing :D The difference is Dust's interesting idea is just a small leech off of what makes EVE so interesting and it does have direct competition.

You forgot the part where CCP charges you the price of the game (pobably 60 bucks) + 20 bucks *entrance fee* to buy in-game currency to get weapons and ****...

Oh, and you also forgot the part where they will milk the **** out of you, so that you can get that new shiny gun or vehicle, so that you eventually pay as much as you would to get a whole gaming computer just to be able to compete with all the other pay2win guys.

You'll see... It will be just like Battlefield Heroes, where you have to spend like 300 dollars to have any chance against anyone, because non-MT weapons are pathetic and underpowered compared to the ones people buy with real $$$.

OH! And I almost forgot!

Eve addict with PS3 (bought largely for Demon Souls and Heavy Rain) but near completely uninterested in DUST514 because of :microtransactions: crew checking in.

Irony is I play World of Tanks complete with horrendous :microtransactions: regardless but my gut feeling is that CCP won't be able to create something with a model like that - and it'll end up being too intrusive and greedy and essentially niche. The thing about world of tanks is its popular enough that you can click in any time of the day or night and get a 15v15 tank battle instantly. You need a certain number of players logged in regularly to achieve that. If Dust (for whatever reason) struggles to reach reliable numbers of logged in players and persists with the :microtransaction: pay to win model it'll sink like an unloved kitten in a bag full of stones.

I somehow doubt that PS3 owners will be lining up for Gears of War, considering its an Xbox exclusive and all.

You have to admit that PS3 exclusive is a pretty off the wall move for a niche IP with zero successful experience in pay-to-win games. Not only are you intentionally distancing yourself from your traditional subscriber base (pc + subs) twice over, but you're attempting to compete with established names who are not operating pay-to-win.

I know plenty of console gamers myself and I honestly don't know many who like the idea of having the credit card next to them on the sofa when they kill dudes on the internet.

(I did know one guy who tried battlefield heros but the whole experience left him feeling dirty and used)

But hey.

My best hope for Dust514 really is that we (ie eve gamers who've payed for the development with our subs) get to salvage some of the art assets and link stuff for *our game* when and if Dust goes belly up.

I agree to a point, personally I would prefer if dust was coming to the PC, I just prefer the mouse and keyboard for FPS games. But the fact of the matter is that console games are bigger money and bigger audience.

If it had to be exclusive then PS3 is the right choice to reach the broadest possible audience.

Xbox was out because Microsoft wouldn't let the game talk to tranquility and also has very strict policies on dlc and updating game content. This would not work with CCP's plan to continue development on dust releasing free expansions.

It couldn't be PC and PS3 due controller issues, the mouse and keyboard is far more accurate than the play station controller. As it is the play station move is going to offer a big advantage.

As for needing the credit card next to you to play, we simply don't know how much it will cost to be competitive in the game. It could be that a good player only needs to pay the initial buy in and then can support all there in game activities with isk.

We could end up with a system where players who can't generate enough isk on there own buy the expensive cash weapons and sell them on the market, allowing players with excess isk to play for free. Much like the plex system works in eve currently.
