so ive been training the FAX skills since they were released (as in, before they announced they were gonna use existing carrier skill) to get a head start, remapped and implanted for max SP/hr and cheekily decided to keep training until the skills were revoked and the SP reimbursed, thinking i could then distribute the copious amounts of SP back into new skills like light fighters and etc...

If you looked at the Features & Ideas post you would have known... probably a month or so ago, that the FauX skill was being deprecated due to player feedback.

You'll keep Fighters V and it will be a useful skill. To continue using your fighters you'll need to train Light Fighters to 1 though.

You realize, your still going to need to drop a lot of isk on fighters right?

Current fighters will become T1 "whatever" light fighters - Which will only be useful to turn into T2's as T1's aren't worth spit to actually use.

This change has been nicely configured to get carrier and super pilots to open their wallets (isk or plex depending on your play style and in game wealth) and spend, spend, spend.
Rough estimate - 6 T1 light fighters are being exchanged at +-20 mil. 6 T2 light fighters will run you close to 40 mil; or 60 mil for a squad of 9.


Q; What happens to excess fighters if the carrier has more than 14 current fighters (they won't fit in anything other than a max skilled Thanatos) , will they get moved to other hangars (if they aren't also full)? Or will the new fighter management bays just be overloaded, so you can't move or use the ship until excess fighters are removed?

I think retreating to hold less space is probably a good idea with citadels. Wont these things turn systems into cities?

Seems nobody here played on the test server if they think this is a nerf to carriers. The new fighters do MORE damage collectively and can apply it to smaller ships. Including the utility of the new support fighters that can ECM, web and point. The ECMs most importantly put carriers above dreads (and supers if your lucky) in a hitting match. Other things like the 5km lock range, general fighter controls allow you to set orbit distance of the fighters, emergency hull energiser allows you to survive drive by DDs, mids and lows are free due to support fighters. The list can go on.

All in all this is a buff to carriers.

The Force Auxiliary skills were abandoned a week or so after they were seeded in favor of using the existing carrier skills.

They should all be cancelled and fees refunded as the item your currently selling will no longer exist. It will have been transformed into a cheaper replica of itself.
