[Drilling Platforms] how to make them more active

Dear CCP

Since watching the fanfest stream im full of questions on the industrial side of the new structures because we haven't really had much information about them at all.

I had an idea of how to make drilling platforms more active;

Each moon can be mined by more than one person however it should use a mechanic like the PI where you deploy your Drill to a location, and it will gradually reduce in the amount of the ore in that location, so mining in the same place overtime will reduce yield. Also intensive miners can set jobs of differing length shorter length = high yield very quick, longer times = more consistent yields for only a 1 time cost.
--- This could even allow you to add moon battle sites to DUST541 which could be fun for those guys ---

The Owner of the structure can set a facility rent tax.

An intensive moon miner on his own moon with noone else using it & max skills and a perfectly setup drilling array should be able to do around 3 times the current rate that pos does.

Reactions should be done through the a system similar to the Refinery, so tax income can come from inserting the correct combinations to produce goods at a % rate set by the structure owner.

When you produce reaction materials you will have skills that affect waste, because when you normally IRL react elements you will get wasted energy/elements, again the person can select intensive or less so job type to give the results, however an intensive job produces more waste, but is much faster.

And an important part, any time a mining job is being ran in the structure it is vulnerable, whether or no it's within it's standard vulnerability window.

Like to know what people think.

There is no DUST 514 anymore... Soon there will be Nova.

I think that your "Active" mechanic is an almost entirely passive mechanic that doesn't actually involve anything with ships in space.

There are no ships that do "Moon Mining" what this does is push people to actively manage the Drilling and not just put up a tower and empty it every 14 days or so

I don't think it should be an entirely active thing but a service that needs to be actively managed

At this stage, I'm pretty certain CCP already has a good idea of what drilling platforms are going to do. I'd suggest you wait and see what they have in mind, specifically considering their stated intention of wanting to make moon mining more of a hands on task.
