I thought about this for a while. What would be the pros/cons if CCP implemented a way to decrease skill training time?

As in, if the player was doing something that was unlocked/affected by the currently trained skill, it would train X% faster...

dailies are one thing that don't require a large amount of time to do. This is something different.

Now that y'all mentioned it, it does sound like SP grinding... Dumb by me, eh

Trying to speed up newbie progression has resulted in some of the worse game additions in the past for which some of them have already been removed. Such as learning skills.

The real problem is trying to get new players to realize that this is a long term game where SP total doesn't matter as much as they would like to think. That is the best and likely the hardest thing to do unfortunately.

And CCP does nothing to teach players this more enjoyable and reasonable attitude. Instead, they go the grind way other MMOS take and erode a massive advantage EVE has over other MMOS.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Skill injectors.

They're already in, and it's still a bad idea.

there are a few who feel like that but from the looks of jita's market on sales for those items you can easily tell that many people are making use of it regardless

I made use of it and sold tons of now useless or redundant SP resulting in close to 80 bil in profit.

Still think Eve Online will be worse off from it.

People made use of clone updating, and dec shielding, and closing WH's with higgs rigged yachts. But the use of a feature does not mean its good for the game as a whole.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

This is exactly what I have been telling CCP at any possible time they asked for an opinion. I even told them many, many times that the hook of New Eden IS the long time you can spend here.

Then they make selling trailers with titans and tell possible new folks that they can do that on day one -.-

The reality is a perfect sinus curve in terms of progression. You start in a frigate, rush into battleships and realize that cruisers are better.
When I got my first 25.000 isk from completing a level 1 and thought I was rich, I also found the price tag on the titan skill book - 5 billion - and thought, okay maybe not.

How is that difficult to put in a cool trailer that features Suitonia in a frigate, killing another one?

A rough estimate of the time it would take to train everything to level 5 is about 19 man years, not 20 minutes.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

even better trailer would be one showing three or so frigates killing a cocky battleship
