Hi. I've been tested six times. Each time the result is: IQ 174, ambidextrous, slight sociopathic tendencies.

Having said THAT. The intelligence quotient (IQ) originated as a dubious, and relatively (if not entirely) discredited method for assessing intelligence. The initial idea was expressing the actual age of a person and so-called "mental maturity" (or presumed "mental age") with a value. So...you'd suppose you have a 12-year old who's as mentally mature as a 24-year old. Express those two values in a quotient. Do some other gesticular calculations and get an IQ.

Of course, most of you can readily see the logical and syntactical flaws in such a system. Firstly, for instance, what do you mean by "maturity"? Which 24- year olds (for instance) are you using for your yardstick? (How do you know the entire population isn't functioning with a background of dysfunction?) The alleged constant isn't...constant.

Another glaring problem with the idea is: What do you mean by "mind" and "mental"? These words are so vague as to be practically useless but for in conventional conversation. They certainly don't measure up to being technical or scientific terms which denote anything with rigorous specificity.

Even the idea of "intelligence" itself gets all over the map. You could sit in a three-hour lecture from an expert (another specifc term, wot?) and not even scratch the surface of that concept. (I'll even wager some folks won't be able to resist trying to define "intelligence" in this thread just to show a.) how simple a concept it really is, or b.) how intelligent they are; which is essentially what a. would do...obstensively.)

The best I can ascertain (largely because I'm supposed to be a so-called "genius" but have done some of the stupidest things ever done by mankind in modern times) when this IQ concept was dreamed up the so-called scientific community believed everything in the universe could be codified. You could attach a value to something and instead of going through all the complications and vagaries of being accurate, you could just toss out a number and all the other eggheads would get it.

By the way, Einstein's IQ was never "tested". (He never took the battery of tests, which have changed significantly since 1912 when they were first devised, to ascertain this IQ thing with him.) There are people who have the nerve to estimate his IQ. This figure is usually 160 - 190. That's a typically absurd range used by people who are believers in this...practice of using an IQ to codify someone's intelligence.

To me, genius that I am, you're only as smart as the last stupid thing you did...like tell everyone your IQ, or....
...discuss intelligence in a thread about Goonswarm.
What does one have to do with the other, hmmmmm?

I like the humor :P

I've always wondered why anyone would pay to attempt having some company certify you as 'smart'. It doesn't land you work, it doesn't give you any qualification, it doesn't do anything . Well, I guess it makes you poorer. And it's not like you get bragging rights either, flaunting it into people's face will either have them think you're a fool, or some kind of a snob...

I'm going to guess pathological liar was the only test result you've gotten for anything. And you're probably underselling your sociopathic tendency as well.

Well. It wasn't my idea to be tested. I've got no reason to invent the results, 'cause your response is typical. All it does is open one up to ridicule. Would I lie to you? Of course I would. I'm not stupid. Did I lie with regard to this thread? No. However, that would never affect your response, which I find interesting in and of itself. It is the response of someone whose mind is already made up...believing it to be otherwise. I see you never pass up a chance to demonstrate
an innate arrogance.

His IQ was never tested and it's not like that the IQ means anything anyway. All the IQ tells you is how good you are at taking IQ tests and beyond bragging rights on tea parties, there's not really much benefit to it.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

From what I know, some of the IQ test have a bias as they are based on the knowledge or way in which you resolve a problem "common" in the area where the developers live and operate. Being from a different culture make some of the test easier or more difficult.

How about that silly 'signature', Mr. Epeen Cool, that you manually write under every message, Mr. Epeen Cool? How about putting that under the signature line where it belongs, Mr. Epeen Cool? Oh wait no, Mr. Epeen Cool, then you wouldn't think your annoying self-branding stands out anymore, Mr. Epeen Cool.

It's not here, and I also know the difference between those two words. Its called a typo with lazy proof reading good sir.

Depending on what test I take I score between the 120s to 150s. I really don't give a **** about some test that may or may not have been created by someone smarter then I am however. I've seen mistakes in IQ tests. Just don't do stupid things and you're not stupid. No one else cares.
