EVE New Citizens Q&A

I do mostly security missions and I'm beginning to be offered level 4 missions from some of my agents. I have all 3 Gallanteen battleships with T2 modules and drones now but I haven't got my hybrid guns to T2 yet. Should I start accepting these missions now or wait until my guns are T2? Also, which of the 3 battleships is best for these missions. One other thing, my sentry drones aren't T2 yet either and from what I have read the Domi is best with T2 sentry drones. So I'm kinda leaning towards either the Hyperion or Megathron if I can do them without the T2 guns right now. Any suggestions on what I should work on to be successful in these missions would be appreciated. Here is my character. http://eveboard.com/pilot/Zornia_Estemaire

The fact that you don't have T2 sentries or guns yet doesn't need to stop you, the issue is more about people who severely lack in support skills and are WAY too young and try it anyway. This is not the case with you, you have decent support skills and all that so you're fine. Get heavy and sentry drone skill to 4, Gall BS to 4 and some other stuff and, once you get some experience, you'll breeze through lvl 4s. Remember that lvl 4s is where really need to stop clowning around and use specific resists per mission and attack the right targets in the right order.

Pure droneboats aren't very fast at doing missions but they're easy to use as you can fully focus on tank, once you start adding guns or want to use sentry rigs then a dominix takes a bit more effort to make it happen. Also, but this is personal, droneboats are annoying to use due to drone aggro and all that, you waste so much time gaining aggro before you can safely launch your drones (also resulting in you getting hit harder) it drives me crazy. Using a turret/missile based ship means you can do damage right away and once stuff gets in close you'll start adding your drones. I've missioned in Dominixes and shield Ishtars, it's easy but slow and very annoying/boring. YMMV ofcourse.

Something like a shield tanking navy domi with 350 rails and a ton of mag stabs can work very well but it's a bit hairy to use as it doesn't do well in "oh crap" scenarios. Me personally I now use a Kronos since the hybrid change, although it's still not on par with things like a Vargur or Paladin at least it's decent now and faster than a pure droneboat while safer than a turret/drone hybrid.

The amount of tank you'd need on a Megathron, combined with its fitting issues means that it's just not ideal so I'd opt for either a single rep (navy) Domi or a cap booster Hyperion and work my way towards the Kronos.

Take your time, use med or long range weapons with gank mods if you need, dmg specific hardeners and drones. Stay aligned, kill the frigs at a range first, then the cruisers, then the battleships... AT least, That is how I did it, and I used a t1 fit tempest shield tanked... when most people I asked said that would fail. I did not loose one tempest, and my skills were lv 3 for battle ship, large guns, and shield tank skills. So you can do it! :) use tactical hud for range visual grid, this helps primary your next target, according to range and ship type. Use the mission reports guide too, :) Blitz the ones you can, but if you can kill the ships fin,e why not collect the bounties and salvage?
