The problem is nothing to do with AFK freighters or freighters needing special exceptions.
Give them real Capital fittings, give all industrials fittings, and make ganks take significantly longer.
Then give gankers that additional time in also, make concord work by remotely activating your self destruct so you get at least 60 seconds since industrials now can have decent tanks.

Now ganking actually becomes a real game of skill, more than 2 ships become used for ganking since you have to allow for your target using reps, or even having fitted weapons suitable to fight back with, and for outsiders to intervene, which makes it more fun for all sides since it's not as certain and isn't over in the blink of an eye.

I was thinking about the idea of a global warp to button. Much like a broadcast for reps button. That allows anyone to warp to you if you have a global criminal countdown "against" you. So the moment you get aggressed you can request help from anyone that can warp to you in time. I was thinking about it but its quite abusable in other situations too. Would be kinda interesting.

Still wouldnt help for many of the gank styles though, but some of them maybe. And would give the white knight types the option if they are in the area to protect a gank. Really anything to make it a matter of getting more people involved rather than find a single target and bam thats it.

In the vast majority of cases it wouldnt make a difference. Not many people care. But the ability to ruin someones day, even the gankers days, would be kinda interesting.Twisted
