Why does Something Awful forums looks so old and terrible?

I really don't get how Goons can stand such a terrible looking site that looks like something from the 90's. Every time I look at it I think to myself Geocities or AOL, perhaps a bit of both going on there. The little tags identifying each forum/subforum are horrible looking. The site itself is also so bloated with so many forums about all kinds of topics it seems overbearing. Perhaps they should add a better navigation system.

Are they ever going to improve on the look of this dreadful thing? Aren't people paying to be a part of those forums monthly?

If you want to know about something in the SA forum, ask in the SA forum and not in EVE-O GD forum.

Probably would if I actually knew where to ask. The thing is a nightmare just looking at it.
