After what I gather is an extraordinary length of operation I have this past two days been finally forced to uninstall my old version of Eve Client and download a new one, Yer you guessed it...it finally collapsed under the weight of months of CCP updates.

What am I left with, Well, after several hours of attempting to download the lot, I gave up on that idea when downtime came around yet again and screwed the whole thing up, seems you need more than the allotted 23 hours to manage to download it.

So I choose to go for the truncated version, "Well that worked", in a fashion, at least it gave me a version of the Eve Client on my drive, but when I tried to open it....Well you guessed it, the thing went into a series of updates lasting over an hour, but stopped every time the mouse pointer was moved off the Launcher panel, as long as it was on the panel the updates continued to be downloaded, move it away to do something else and it instantly stopped.

That aside eventually I managed to get a client logged in and into game, Question is, Why after over two hours is it still trying to 'Load resources', is this the 'On the Fly' method of gaming these days, is it 'Brain fart on a box' gone tilt because either way I have a client that appears to be working, in the station environment, but cannot un dock, just sits there black screen, click cancel un dock and it returns to the station environment......And more resource loading.

Don't you just love CCP

You installed new launcher. Maybe check in settings for "Download everything"

Yup, unchecked that, but still had no effect on the outcome, eventually it stopped loading resources and allowed me to un-dock late that evening.

Solved the problem though, Went round to a friends house, you know the type, money no object line speeds on his ''intraweb'' connection, dumped the whole lot onto a DVD brought it home and dropped it into the same file as the set up, 'Ave at it my lad' and a little over half hour later a fully functional version of Eve was had.

Which really begs the question, are CCP actually designing the game only for those with 'Uber' web connection speeds so in effect pricing out the little guy, I know that already the graphics are becoming a serious problem for a number of players leaving them no option but to run in 'Potato Mode' just to get a functional client, in which case the constant stream of graphics updates is meaningless to them as they simply cannot run there clients with them turned on, the recent changes to the station environment even has my pair of 980 Ti's wondering what hit them.

There is something amiss in CCP in my view that needs addressing.
