What to train to quickly push faction standings?

TL;DR: How to quickly get empire faction standings while brain-dead?

Hello everyone,

it's been a while since I quit internet spaceships and I forgot more than I care to admit. One of those things is how to grind empire faction standings with the lowest possible effort. I am aware of *the plan*, but frankly, it involves more planing and mental presence than I'm willing to invest. My personal plan is to grind some form of missions while watching Netflix until my standings are where I want them. The question is, should I:

- Train transport ships and go with distribution missions?
- Train for a Dominix/Gila/Ishtar and farm combat missions?
- In both cases, is lvl3 or lvl4 better for faction standings?
- Are FW missions in bombers still a thing? Should I consider those instead of staying in Hi-Sec?

Thanks in advance for your input :)

Like the drink, but spelt differently?

AFAIK they've changed FW missions so that they can't be completed by bomber. You'll probably see faster gains doing Lvl3 missions than grinding through bog standard lvl4s, but...if you can run the Burner series of missions, you can cherry pick the blitzable lvl4s and run the Burners as well. Frankly, the number of storyline missions that accumulate when churning through Burners is just annoying!

Thanks for the reply. Burner missions sound like perfect frigate and small guns and support skills to me, and I'm not sure i want to commit so much ISK to inject them all. In any case, what is the smallest possible set of ships that can run all or almost all burner missions? i hear great things about the daredevil and garmur, but will i also need other ships?

First of all, train up Social and Connections skills asap.

Social will increase the amount of standing gained for completing missions and Connections will increase your current amount of positive standing. If you have negative standings then train up Diplomacy to quickly raise them.

Completing Level 3 Distribution missions is the fastest way to gain Storyline missions. However that alone will still take a long time to raise Faction standings.

If you actually read 'The Plan' then you'll realize it's the fastest and easiest way to gain Faction standing. All of the Event Agents listed in 'The Plan' give Faction standing increase which means you don't have to do a lot of regular mission grinding.

After training up the Social skills mentioned earlier, I suggest running the Career Agent missions, then the Circle Agents followed with the Data Center Agents. As listed in 'The Plan', working each allied Factions Event Agents will drastically increase your standings.

The only brain work required is to keep watch on the standings. When your standings with all 4 main Factions is close to equal, you should be able to raise them all around the same time just by bouncing between each set of allied Factions Event Agents when needed.

Whether you decide to work 'The Plan' or not, I wish you good luck.

Yup, Daredevil and Garmur for (some) Burner Agents and all Team Burners respectively - additionally, you might also need a Vigilant, Onyx (or Orthrus or Gila) and a Vagabond if you decide to dip into the Burner Base missions. Expensive in total, sure, but they do pay for themselves after aa surprisingly short space of time. Good luck!

Tanks again for the replies guys.

@DMC: You underestimate the amount of laziness we're talking here. For example, IIRC career missions involve lots of different activities like scanning signatures, killing rats, fitting webs and scrams etc. Also, to be time efficient you'll be usually doing all career missions in parallel, which means even more coordination and attention. In the end, I decided that I'd rather just run distribution missions while playing WoT on the other screen, even if it takes longer.

Edit: Some constructive criticism regarding the plan. It would be really cool if you could come up with a "complete idiot's guide to blitzing career agents" as part of it, listing all the items you need and which missions to do in parallel to minimize time and effort.

Garmur has unified fit for anomic team burner. Rest of solo burners need rather specific ships.

Ahhh, that old proverb is still true today - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Despite the title of your thread, seems to me you're in no dire need to quickly raise Faction standings so why even bother with it?

Now if the need does arrive, just train up the various Social skills, buy Pirate Dog Tags from the market and work the Data Center missions. That's actually the fastest blitz of all to gain Faction standing.

Speaking of blitz, can't do that with Career Agent missions since each mission basically gives you what's needed to complete it. Also the Career Agent missions are the easiest missions in the game to complete, especially for Faction standing increase.

In fact, the only blitz option I see available for Career Agents would be which order of agents to work first, second, third, etc..

Even though others can make it easy for you to do something, in the end nobody can force you to do it.
