As the title says I'm running sites with a corp mate, him in a rattle snake, myself in a rail fitted hyperion. My queetion is were the sleeper rats are rocking upto 20km or closer quickly would i benefit switching the rails for blasters with the extra 250-300 dps extra pyfa gives or should I stick with the 6x 425's?
Thank you for reading and thank you to anybody who replies.

Its a tricky one, 425mm Rails don't track for ****. So you would really be limited to shooting BS only or non Defender Cruisers. Blasters on the other hand cant really hit Non Defender cruisers due to the orbit of 35K+.

Personally I would use the RS to shoot BS (less DPS loss from they cruiser missiles) and then have the Hyp with blaster shoots the Defenders and anything that comes close (positioning would be important) EFT says that a Hyp can get 16+29KM from Null with 2X TCs and Neutrons which is more than enough for Defenders (15KM orbit for the most part).

Thats one of the reason Large Pulse Lasers are so good in WHs. Enough Range with Scorch to shoot any NPC and good enough tracking to shoot a Defender cruiser.

In general, use 350s for npc work. When you factor in the better tracking on cruisers the 350s do better damage overall across multiple spawns. C3 sites aren't BS heavy, so 350s are even better do to the high cruiser count. If you're going to use rails, use 350s. If you're going to use blasters - you won't reach the cruisers that orbit out at range.

350s also free up some fitting space so you can fit dual reps, mjd, point and a cap injector. That way if you get jumped - you'll be able to give some fight back. BTW - odds of getting ganked in a C3 by a cruiser/BC are much higher than getting ganked by a BS, so again - 350s.

Don't get too hung up on the eft numbers. Think about what you are actually doing.
