Capsuleers,

EVE Morgue is a venture I began shortly after an encounter with a frozen corpse I had while on a hauling run. This is that story:

I was leaving the docking station on a pickup run somewhere near Hroduko. At the time I was CEO of Westhouse Components Company where we converted PI resources into tangible goods for a (small but tidy) profit. I panned my viewport and saw nothing out of the ordinary at first, as usual. I must have been on my fourth run when I started to notice the pale golden hull of a space shuttle. One that had been sitting there for at least half an hour, unmoving, abandoned and in disrepair.

After further probing I was taken aback when I saw the frozen corpse of the missing pilot floating by, with skin glistening in the starlight. I thought, well that's a shame, I wonder what happened? So I loaded it up and continued my run, making quick note to board the shuttle on my next pickup. I retrieved my goods, headed back to station and offloaded tons of toxic metals and the body of an Amarr man.

What happened to him? I kept wondering. I jumped in my pod to seek answers within the ship itself. Of course, there was nothing. Maybe it was scavengers who had already stripped it of anything of value, of any clues. I'd have to ask the pilot myself. When I did, he was too embarrassed to talk about it. I can't blame him. After all, the purpose of cloning is to continue onwards. Against time, sometimes without regard for one's short-term mortality in search of wealth, fame or infamy. But here he was, dead still.

(Authors note: His body is currently residing as the first in our Ossuary at Hroduko.)

About Us

At EVE Morgue (EMORG) our goal is to promote permanence in New Eden. Even now sometimes death may have consequences. But what of the lesson learned? Eve Morgue tells the story of it's dead. We provide an archive of the deceased and the stories birthed just moments before their demise.

How Exactly Does it Work?

We identify corpses based on two categories, Class 1 and Class 2.

Class 1 - Acquired, EVE Morgue purchased the body (for up to 100k). These bodies are typically assessed and purchased directly from the seller. EVE Morgue then contacts the clone of the deceased with the option to re-purchase their corpse or to notify them of it's retainment.

Class 2 - Bodies retrieved from the vacuum of space. These bodies are also referred to as "floaters" or "drifters". EVE Morgue then contacts the clone of the deceased with the option to re-purchase their corpse or to notify them of it's retainment.

When EVE Morgue retains a body, the person's clone will receive a notice with questions regarding their last death. At which point the archival process begins and the person is given options regarding their resting place. If the person cannot be reached, EVE Morgue archives the process in which it has retrieved the body, which is then sent to our labs where it will be kept indefinitely. A bulletin will then be posted with the gathered information regarding the new arrival, this also serves as an impromptu funeral. The person's clone will then receive a death certificate, a copy of which will be held for our records.

It should be noted that EVE Morgue only maintains one record of any given person at only one instance or moment of death.

Working Capital and Finances

EVE Morgue is a non-profit corp with zero-percent member taxation and is expected to remain as such for the forseeable future.

Initial Investment (Seed Capital) - 5M

Investment and Assets

As a non-profit, EVE Morgue cannot guarantee a return-on-investment should a person desire to purchase shares in the company. Instead of focusing on making a profit, EVE Morgue will operate and collect assets on a case-by-case basis with the intent on maximizing shareholder value over the long term through partnerships and goodwill. However, EVE Morgue is dedicated to full transparency and we welcome those who wish to contribute to the cause. We are currently offering to sell 75% of the company to the public in order to emphasize our dedication to this project as partners. This should expand both the longevity, interest and capacity of EVE Morgue to serve as an opportunity to regard oneself as not just another clone, but as a human being.

The current general price-per-share in EVE Morgue is set at 5000isk, with a minimum purchase of 1% of the company.

Total shares - 100,000 total shares pending

Share Dilution & Fair Value - The initial 1000 shares will see a 99% decrease in ownership with the issue of 99,000 new shares on the day of the IPO (4/15). These founder shares and will remain unchanged with the dilution. This allows the current share structure to align with the set price of common stock price issued to the public. Which means my initial 5M investment would equate to the same 1% required as a minimum share purchase by an outside investor.

This is a measure to insure that the founder (me) does not profit from selling shares to the public.

Donations carry no such restrictions and those who give will become a valued contributor to the organization.

Risks and Challenges

Depending on the volume of clients we deal with in the next quarter, processing corpses could become a concern as Eve Morgue matures. The preservation of the Eve Morgue vision is also a long term concern as the company takes on more shareholders. Should a new CEO be elected, for example, the current director(s) cannot be held responsible for any errors or deviation that may occur after their tenure.

Bulletins and other information regarding the deceased (the "archive") will be also posted online for the general public to view. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

After an initial investment of just 5 million ISK (your own "Seed Capital"), somehow this "non-profit" corporation is valued at 500 billion ISK (100 000 shares × 5 million ISK per share)?

Well, at least the minimum buy-in is low, at just 5 billlion ISK (minimum of 1% to buy in)... And your aim is to sell 75%, so 375 billion ISK in shares? That much capital would allow you to purchase up to 3 750 000 corpses (at up to 100 thousand ISK apiece)? Why not start with a smaller number, like 3750, and see if you can handle that?

And, actually, does this corporation even have a single corpse yet? The introductory story doesn't say whether you kept that Amarr corpse or if it was part of your initial capitalization of the corporation.

Given the apparent scale of this operation, that lone corpse may be may be important to valuation.

Thanks for the feedback. EVE Morgue's valuation is actually 500M at 50isk a share, My initial investment being 5M with a total 1000 shares outstanding. Sorry for that confusion! The plan right now is to scale this gradually since, like you said, it could be tough to handle!

I've also begun taking steps toward getting EMORG up on the web beginning with the new but still undeveloped subreddit /r/EVEMorgue. Got questions? Please do get in touch.

Confirmed purchase of 20,000 shares. This is something I'd like to get behind simply because no one else is adding this level of flavor to the game. Looking forward to it.

Day three trading has effectively put a freeze on EMORG direct equity liquidity. This means there are currently no shares available for purchase at this time over-the-counter. However, donations to EVE Morgue are still being accepted. Reserved shares are being withheld for company employees and directors to be appointed at a later date.

As we move into our operations I encourage all would-be investors to contact EMORG or other known existing shareholders to inquire about how they may bid for currently held shares and at what price. Thanks!

UPDATE: Notices sent to the first 15 clones:

THIS MESSAGE IS COURTESY OF EVE Morgue.

Dear Capsuleer,

If you are receiving this message, your corpse has been registered by the Executive Coroner as a class 1 corpse. This means your assets at the time of death were stripped and your body was left in the vacuum of space to freeze before being retrieved and held for unknown purposes. Shortly after, your body was retrieved by our procurers and brought to rest at one of EVE Morgue's ossuaries where it will be stored, should you decide to retrieve it at a later date. In 48 hours, EVE Morgue will release a statement regarding your death in an internal memo. It will then be moved to one of our public archives for the public to pay their respects.

Should you choose not to respond to this message, EVE Morgue will assign a coroner to your body. He or she will then be responsible for investigating the cause of death. Following this, an obituary will be produced and published free of charge.

Should you choose to respond to this message we would like you to provide the following, as to insure proper representation of the true you:

1) Cause of last death (be as detailed as you would like):

2) Final thoughts, if any.

Upon publication, your clone will be provided with a copy. May the souls of Lost Eden guide you home in peace.

Respectfully,

Jupiter Bulvir
