Openly revealing information or not, people aren't attacking the characters, they're attacking the players. It's out of game. You can call it retaliation if it makes you feel better - though retaliating for someone disrespecting you in game being out of game attacks still seems pretty bad to me - but at the end of the day it's people taking the game too seriously and attacking players personally. If the same thing were to be done to one of the other "celebrities", on this scale people would be demanding CCP take action on out of game harassment, but because it's Mittani, somehow it's OK.

first of all, i won't actually call it attacking but more of calling him out. he'll do something s2pid and people react by calling him out and criticize him. afaik, nobody actually truly harassed him out of game, yet.

second, if they didn't reveal themselves to the public they can't be attacked as a person.

third, people are calling them out/cricizing them because of what they have done out of game. asking people to to harass somebody to commit suicide. publishing articles accusing almost everybody (including me) of committing a felony (out of game) for participating in an in-game betting, doxxing, kickstarter, etc. i know you are not dumb so, i know you know what they've done. come on dude...

lastly, the only guys who is taking this the war and the game as whole too seriously is the mittani. he is so hung-up with the naming thing that he is willing to blackmail (allegedly) a CCP employee or rather CCP itself in changing the name of the war or else he'll do negative publicity, sabotaging the game and of course CCP. wow. Shocked

So what do you think of the Florida article? I guess the MBC is fighting in the wrong place, namely in game.
I think that it raises some legitimate questions and I've not seen an evidence supported counter argument. The impact on CCP I would say is heavily inflated, but outside of that it's hard to claim that nothing of value is being gambled when the path to converting ISK to cash is so short.

I'd not yet seen that but shall endavour to verify when I get a chance later. At a glance though, there's definitely one glaring issue which is that Nosy has traced the IP to Arizona for both IWI and evopolous, but the reason that's in Arizona is that the site is hosted through cloudflare, which acts as a proxy to cache data and prevent a DDOS attacks. The ping will come back from the clodflare host, but the actual server can be hosted anywhere. Not that it matters where the server is hosted, a business can't host a server overseas then break national laws. It also seems strange to me though that Optimal Tech Systems would have been closed in 2010, yet the registration for the IWI domain which is to the same company name was created in 2013.

So like I say, it raises some legitimate questions.
