I appreciate your comment. I really do. But sadly this too just proves my point. Open communication is punished in EVE. But I get that it's part of the sandbox. I guess it's just not the sandbox for me.

This is my main character. Been posting with it since I started playing EVE in Feb 2009.

Most of my alts have bounties, including the ones that never undock (market alts & industry alts).

Keep in mind, I'm an industrialist, but not a "carebear". Still here. Still having fun. Playing in the EVE sandbox my way.

You definitely have the wrong game.

That is what reasonable people think...however, I know of at least one person who biomassed their character expressly because I had put a 100k bounty on them. Some people Lol

In the past, I would re-sub about once a year, but I have not been subbed in about a year and a half. I only came back for the 10 free days that were offered.

Anyway, I posted my original post really for CCP. It attracted some rather toxic comments which really does not resolve my initial concern, so I'm moving on to the uninstall button. My time is up and EVE, for me, has only been a social experiment in toxicity.

You are so right. That inventory fiasco from 2012 and the thread that was over 50 pages long was an issue that "no one" cared about. I wonder where many of those people are today?

Bounties spooking you from being social is just silly.
Hell, even wardecs shouldn't be enough to keep you silent.
You have full control of what you let scare you in this game.

Personally I like my bounty, as I kind of view it like a tip jar from all my satisfied customers.
With my usual activities I'm kind of like a random burner mission that comes to you... all you have to do is click the right buttons and you could win an average of 8 million isk in bounty plus up to about 10 mil in loot if you win.

Digression aside, unless you're putting yourself out there for violent funtime the odds of them having any meaning at all are pretty slim.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

It wouldn't be ISK lost, if you go inactive for 3 months then whoever placed the bounty gets it returned - bounties are cleared after that time.

Some even use it as an intel tool.
Want to know if (character name) goes inactive or not ? Keep a small bounty on them - it being returned will let you know (and if they don't you'll be able to get a laugh when they lose a ship).
