I had a try with the Avast Free version, and I have no problems with that one. We don't see false positives with Avast in our tests. Do you happen to have any further information about what Avast is blocking?

I would probably white-list the C:\EVE\ folder in your Avast program. You should be able to do that under settings->exclusions.
