From what I have seen - Most CFC fleet doctrines have never been very smart/useful.

They just had the illusion of decency due to the overwhelming numbers they could field.

This gave the people who come up with their fail fits the impression that they were 'doing it right'.

But don't forget:
It is not the fault of the worker bees that they have ******** queens ruling their hives.

The average goon member is a good dude who just doesn't realize how much more fun eve can be because of the misinformation/lies/illusions they have been fed for so long.

Be nice to them and try and help them move on to fun/decent groups if/when the time comes.

Fozzysov only causes disruption and dissolution to those who have committed to holding and maintaining an area of space. It adds nothing for the victors, and nothing for the vanquished. It is a huge isk sink that adds nothing but loss, or potential loss, to all involved. Once the glow abates there will be nothing to hold onto for anyone.

**** you, fozzy.

Last week horde took out, oh I don't know, 125 Goon ships? There was only about 25-6 of us and half of them were new guys (like me)...

The goons needed a wake up, and to eat some humble pie (Viceroy program? hubris writ large) . The down side is that holding sov will be like trying to hold sand in your hand. When fleets of week-old toons (supported by fleets of sub-caps) can easily cause your sov to be endangered or lost it is an affront to all the players who have invested significant time and money into developing the advanced skills and assets that are so attractive to sov holding alliances.

We've all seen how fast the Imperium has folded, and the same thing is easily repeatable in all player sov space.

Aren't goons losing all the big fights too?

No idea, dude. I'm out of Bastion because I did not want to fight for the goons - and where were the goons when all the little fleets were contesting Bastion sov?. We were there, but they weren't.

To me, that's "working as intended." If it's much more of an asspain for large blocs to hold on to sov, then that opens up sov-null for more entities. More entities (hopefully) means more opportunity for "gudfites" and conflict. Bloc, alliance, and corp leaders will have to more carefully consider how much space they can not only take, but hold effectively.

At least, on paper, that's what it seems like *should* happen.
