Solo PVP/Scout Fed Navy Comet fit?

So I'm now being given missions in a .4 system known for pew pew and I thought to myself "well, why not just fit out a nice little fast ship that can hold it's own for at least a few minutes and cruise through ahead of sending your mission ship in?"

So I picked out a Fed Navy Comet because they seem versatile enough for a frig, they can be fitted to be quite fast, and they look hella cool. Does anyone out there have a fit or two they can throw down here for me to ponder over? I've hit up the Google and found a few that seem like they're decent, but I thought I'd come here before I fitted it out and ask for the wisdom of you forum warriors.

I would really suggest you use a standard T1 frig or a 'ceptor for the purpose rather than a faction frig, but I guess that all depends how much money you have.

If you really want a ship that is just for scouting your way to a mission in lowsec, you may as well get a covops. You can also sit it off the accel. gate cloaked to give you extra warning if someone probes you out.

This one time, I like, totally did some stuff.

Yeah, it was a pricey ship, but I had a little ISK to burn I guess. The ship will be used not just for a mission scout, but I would also like to use it some day for some PVP skirmishing, so it was worth the extra expense. I would use a CovOps, but I'm not trained up enough to fit them out properly (2008 player here, but with only 14 mil. SP's, so I've taken MANY long breaks).

Thanks for the fit advice! I'll play with this one in EFT and see what I think.

the real reasons why you should fly any given ship. fly what you want as long as you won't kill yourself if you lose it - not what 'wins' or boring cookie cutter fits.

Amen to that! I'm no min/max gamer (well, a part of me is, but I do try not to let it run the show).
