Need Changes To Dividend System

After paying out dividends to shareholders this morning I realized the system for this needs some work. Just some simple changes.

A. Aquiileia holds 51% of the corps stock just so she can't be voted out by random investors. But I dont want her to be paid a dividend.

B. The corp has shares that havent been purchased, also not wanting to send dividends back to the corp.

The Dividend payment tool should enable us to select or deselect those who should receive a dividend.

I now have to manually figure out who should get what which is going to be a pain in the ass.

That is all.

Would kinda defeat the purpose of dividends if you could just selectively pick who gets dividends. Sounds more like the voting system should be separated out from the shares. At some point down the line I'm sure they'll overhaul the whole lot.

Well, if the system is going to operate the way it does currently, then there should be some way to control where dividends go.

If you have one (1) share, you can win a vote.

The number of cast votes count. Not the number of potential votes.

CCP should just remove shares all together, they are a bygone mechanic that was not thought out very well or has not bene made to its full potential. best to just remove them

Then you are not paying a dividend. A dividend is a per share amount.

A salary is a per person amount.

Big difference.

You arent getting my point at all apparently.

Why would I want to pay a Dividend from the corp wallet back to the corp for shares not sold to investors?

Aquiileia gives Aquiileia a majority share.
Then, Aquiileia wants it all to work out fair.

By the time you finish front-loading all your exceptions to a fair distribution to all members,
you will have done the job manually anyway. That might be a hard sentence to follow.

Allow me to simplify. The odds of getting the devs to custom-make game tools to alleviate you of your laziness are as good as the odds are of Bumblefck ceasing to put bounties on people 'cause they post in this forum. Nil.

And, the odds of all that are as good as CCP getting RID of the bounty system and
while they're at it this ridiculous DIVIDEND system. Go figure. Oops, sorry.

That'd take EFFORT.

I'm pretty sure as long as someone holds at least 5% of the shares they have three ability to cast a vote to take out the CEO. At least... I'm pretty sure I remember reading that when I looked into shares years ago. I could be very wrong. The shares work as intended. Unfortunately , they work as intended and it's not very good or useful imo.

sigh... if you want to give ouit a dividend to not you, you either have to keep funning your money back to the corp and keep doing a dividend till said money is 0, or give the shares to the corp and keep repeating the above till the money is 0. or do math and figure out how much money you need to dumo to get what dividends paid, you would ofc get most of it, so you just redump it in the corp. or don;t scam

or you manually do a payoput baed on share holder tab and math

Is this time-travel day? We were all told never to touch the shares / votes / dividends stuff from the start, which is summer 2005 for me.

What is going on in here?

If this was the real world... you would do this to avoid paying high taxes on what basically amounts to "income" you have earned (it would be classified differently).

This is not a consideration in EVE. So just pay the damn dividend (because seriously... if the money is coming back to you anyways then it shouldn't matter).
