Name (and sex, the OTHER thing getting asked for on the forums every few months) changes are moot now that you can transfer SP.

Just roll a new char and move the SP.

Yeah but I decided to change metals, because I like Alhuminium better. You can make things with it, it's not just a shiny surface.
... ok.

Actually you are thinking of chromium, it's what's in stainless steel. Bearings and tools are made from tool steel, a very hard brittle steel. Tools are usually plated in chrome(read: chromium) to make them pretty.

The difference can be found by using a magnet, tools are highly magnetic. Stainless steel is not magnetic(some lower grades are slightly magnetic, but anything medical/food grade is not noticeable). Stainless is mostly chromium so it's magnetic properties have given way to a more corrosion resistant elemental makeup.

The chrome in stainless can easily be lost in certain processes which heat the metal, due to chromiums lower melting point.

Aluminum, is a non-magnetic metal, with a low melting point and soft structure. It can be shined(read: polished) to look very similar to chrome. But it never stand up to steel, in any of its forms.

Tool steels have chromium in them. And yeah "chrome" is plated chromium so same difference.

Right, so chromium is used to make chrome steel, not chrome.

Chrome has been electroplated, changing it's chemistry, so no, not the same difference.

What tools? Because anything tool steel may have trace amounts of chrome, but nothing near the content that stainless has. The only reason it has trace...and I mean trace amounts is for corrosion resistance....but it will corrode.

AFAIK most tool steels have anywhere from a couple percent to ~12% chromium. I mean a quick google search will tell you all about different alloys.

No Google needed, I know this from experience working with these metals. When you say tools and I say tools, I'm sure we both mean something different. Where you are right, I think we are both right. Because I'm talking about the tools that make tools(read: tungsten carbide, which is mostly tungsten and hardened steel and come in the form of milling and boring variety).

Oh yeah...I hate the name change idea. Should've thought about it before you clicked, or come up with a tag that is your own(like me).

I will say though, that when I went to make a Twitter for this char....my name was stolen, I'm still a little upset by that.

Yes, it's called "Use your brain, before hitting enter". I don't see anything wrong with your character name.

You are unique. In a special little snowflake kind of wayRoll

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never. Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

Yeah, just like there is a good reason to be able to change the name of your character by emptying their skillpoints, making a new character with a better name and putting all the skillpoints into that new character.

There is no good reason not to have the feature at this point.
