Hey!

How about a few updates to Planetary Infrastructure? Maybe some small skills to increase structure abilities/efficiency?

Examples:

  • Storage Optimization x1, each level increases the storage capacity of all structures by 5%.
  • Planetary Geology x2, each level increases the Extractor range and reduces duration by 2%.
  • Production Capability x2, each level reduces production duration by 1%.
  • Superconductors x1, each level reduces the power grid cost of links by 5%.


The UI could use a minor overhaul as well. Many people shy from PI because it's a "clickfest". Missing a click/step on any one thing can disrupt the whole setup.

Some things that are redundant/annoying:

Clicking on Command Center (to install one), a sub-menu then asks what kind of Command Center you wish to install. If it's a Barren planet, it HAS to be a Barren Command Center. Same with Starports and Storage; there's 2 clicks where there should be one. If there's a menu where there's only one option, then that menu shouldn't be there.

Placing Extractor heads, how about a button/option to prevent overlap? So you can't place an extractor head to overlap another (I.E. the boundaries are 'hard'). What I'd love to see is hex extraction areas instead of circles.

Extraction Area Size, the slider bar is too small. Put it under the big graph in the middle and swap places with the existing text that's there. Better yet, make 1 box for days, another for hours and get rid of the 30 minute intervals. If needed, could post a mock-up of what I'm thinking of.

When building anything, show current ISK vs cost? Nothing like doing a bunch of stuff, then clicking Submit only to find out I don't have enough ISK on hand to do everything I had planned out. A more advanced idea might be to use a Corporate Account instead; just like when making any other Market trade.

Extractors don't automatically switch you to the Route sub-menu. When you build a Processor, after you install a Schematic it then automatically takes you to the Routing screen. Please implement this same feature when creating a new Extractor.

Moving Extractor heads: I make triangles, quadrangles, formations and whatnot with my Extractor heads. If I have to move them for whatever reason....can I move them all, in formation? Shift or Alt-click to move all Extractor heads at once, retaining current configuration.

Last suggestion is a doozy: link planets. I have a starport on Planet A and a starport on Planet B. Can I just....arrange to have them send materials to each other without me flying out to Planet A's Custom's Office, picking up the mats, flying to Planet B's Custom Office to send the mats down to the planet?

Like the skils idea.
Shift/CTRL Click to move heads on mass - yes please

Linking planets I think would reduce the risk of being splatted in space. Although I dont like my Epithal being deaded, the risk makes it more engaging.

Copy/paste factories. Configuring 16 factories and routing them all does my head in.
