I was wondering if the MTACs from Eve lore are autonomous drone vehicles or are they piloted walking vehicles?

Oh cool! About what size are they? Are they just Dropsuits without the armor (and capable of remote operations) or larger?

MTACs are not dropsuits. They are mechs.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

You dont just make a drone of piloted mechanized suit because you should have that capability build in or you should built it yourself, giving it capabilities to operate on its own or remotely.

Very cool!! Too bad these never came to DUST, though they don't appear to be weapons as much as emergency crisis and hazardous environment vehicles... Combats pretty hazardous though Blink by the art they seem to be about the size of the load lifter from Aliens 7 to 8 meters tall, protomech, heavy gear sized; or about the size of an LAV or Modern day armored car scout vehicle

In Templar One, one of the characters was using an MTAC and as a diversion, jumped out of it and set it on automatic where it advanced on an enemy position on it's own, drawing fire on the way.

I remember this picture, I totally forgot about it!!! So they are about the size of Titans from titanfall, and seem to be used for about that purpose (anti infantry, light armor, reconnaissance), like that of our armored cars.

If I recall, during the attack on Caldari Prime, Tibus Heth's MTAC served as the point man and the infantry support. Not much of a recon vehicle because...well. Legs vs wheels.

In Templar One they are used for assault and support purposes. If you need to break into hardened defense lines, you send these guys right on in to make a breach. No idea why they didn't just send in the tanks, but I guess with MTACs' elevated height they can start shooting before they reach the battle-line (and the fact that these same machines were used to also hold the line and were already on Pike's Landing in large numbers courtesy of the stranded Minmatar Valklear regiment stationed there.
