Unfortunately, many of us have personal demons, some larger and more violent than others. Until these are extinguished, we can't do what the quintessential Fed enjoys doing during downtime.

Yes, there are things that still can make me happy. For example, I enjoy justice. I like to see when people get what they have deserved. Maybe I even enjoy it too much and will prefer seeing them getting way more that they deserved. I enjoy executing criminals. I don't really feel anything anymore when I kill hostile soldiers, who simply execute orders and fight against us. But I love to shoot at those, who earned to be shot with their personal actions. Considering amount of peoples I have killed... who knows, maybe I will enjoy when I will be shot as well.

There are other things that will make me happy. I love when the operation against occupants have a success. And, for me to truly become happy, we shall liberate Caldari Prime from gallente occupants completely. And not only Caldari Prime, Black Rise as well.

If I will know there are not a single gallente or federal left in Caldari Prime and Black Rise, then I will be happy. Until it happens... I have to fight.

And if any of you are truly bothered about my happiness, maybe you will grab a weapon and help us to clean our worlds from gallentean occupants?


Oh, and one more thing. I don't think that it is possible to become happy from... eating. I am simply disgusted at the thought of eating like a gallentean swine, consuming all these weird food, becoming obese and smelly like federal hedonists.

Yeah.... I was thinking of something a little more calming than all that. Like flower arrangements, sports, or crossword puzzles. Cooking maybe? You know, calming things. Peaceful things. Things that don't involve the words "collateral damage"...

Well, generally anything that involves assembly, disassembly, optimising, tuning, teasing, hugging, rubbing cheeks against cranium while speaking gibberish and making salvage calms me.

Both the ability to appreciate it and the ability to give it out in turn.

This may sound ironic coming from a combat pilot, but there is a place for mercy in New Eden.

You will rest easier. And the fights you choose to continue even with a merciful outlook, you can rest assured are certainly the most worthy, because mercy is a great prize to forfeit for any cause, only the most worthy may contend.

You're seem stuck in a feedback loop of your own making Commander. I was once blindly loyal to a cause and a government that on the outside, purported to be the epitome of honor, duty, loyalty. Many of the things I did in the name of that government were a far cry from what my definition of honor, duty and loyalty was. But it was for "the greater good." It was for glory. It was for service.

Even after i'd been given an objective, outside view, I still made the decision to support that government because honor demanded it. And again and again, I watched that government fail to maintain the standards of its public face. And then I simply...left. And it has continued just fine without me.

I would invite you to take a similar, objective view of what the State is, compared to what you think the State is, or what it should be. Then ask yourself if you're getting a fair return on all you've sacrificed. Does the State really need you? Or do you need the State so desperately that you would be salve to an ideal, a paper fantasy of honor, duty and loyalty?
