I'm sure this has been discussed here at least once before, but I haven't found the thread. So: Anyone have an resources on how many humans live in the New Eden cluster? Seismic Stan, a pretty clever guy and a great writer, estimated 144 trillion. But that was in 2010. I don't know if any lore sources on the topic have come out since then.

Sorry for my laziness in researching, I just need a figure fairly soon for a project with a deadline. Thanks for any thoughts.

Someone may have to do the math but IIRC the population totals in Source are something like ~80 trillion. I seem to remember that there was some dispute as to whether these totals included pirate/null space and some minor factions.

When I get home I'll have a peek in the Source book

The number I got is about 72 trillion but that might be the 'big four' empire population and not the entire New Eden.

May I interject that I think the big four population is still most likely the closest number to actual demographics. Null and non-empire entities in my mind might amount to some billions at best (not including Sleepers), so they wouldn't tip the scale much either way.
