ok so i'm using a mac but idk if its a mac related issue or if its an issue on your side but one thing i know is that i cant play eve without this happening which is that my game will freeze and it wont unfreeze. i can hear everything thats going on and i can move my mouse but i cant click on anything nor can i exit out of game using command tab. and then have to completely shut my computer off and turn it back on. i've lost a hecate and an ares after this happening because for some reason it doesn't consider or count it as me dcing and i know this because i was killed by rats on a gate in null sec and with the hecate i warped somewhere within 100 and once i warped the game froze and i couldn't do anything about it. its honestly frustrating. i recorded what happened and if you need me to i can show you what happened in a video. i'm just figuring out how to bring a new video from photos on a mac to final cut pro x.

i am using the new beta launcher and its kinda slow and ill explain the setting through the video and everything. and that brings me to something else. i have been having a problem opening up the old eve launcher and what happens is that it freezes once opened and i cant click or exit out of the old launcher i can only force quite it and then that doesn't fix the problem.

i really want to play some eve but i don't want to risk loosing any more ships

As this is Mac specific, you may get more help in the Mac subforum.

Have you tried running with Wine instead of Cider? (see the mac sub forum for details)

Have you tried a shared-cache verification (E top right of the new launcher, "Shared Cache" and click "Verify")

Ultimately, you may need to make a support ticket to get help though - CCP don't officially give support through the forums.

also shared cache and then clicking verify basically finds corrupted files and fixes them right? im not much of a tech with this stuff hehe

Yep, the verify basically goes through looking for any redundant or corrupted resources and fixes them.

Did that or switching to Wine help with the crashing at all?

im thinking that it may be memory problems because of to many commands being relayed or something like that. imma try out with lower grafics settings and things like that

You don't need to know how to use WIne (the same as you don't need to know how to use Cider, which was the only supported wrapper till now). From the sticky in the Mac forum, all you need to do is Select Preferences from the EVE Launcher menu and select Wine for the wrapper. The launcher does all the setup, etc.

If he has a slow connection, he may be getting freezes due to the new video bilboards loading when he enters a new system.
I have experienced this recently, cost me a kill and nearly a ship. The client only responds after the download is finished.

If download on demand is causing you issues, you can mitigate this by telling the launcher to download all resources ("E" top right of the new launcher, "Settings" and tick the "download everything" box). This means that you have all of the resources and never have to use download on demand.

yea maybe but i think i actually might have found a fix. if im guessing correctly the game freezes because of a command im giving the game like "warp to" and im guessing it over loads the ram and freezes the computer. ive also noticed that a lot of other people are having the same issue where the game becomes to much for there computer from this recent update due to an over load of ram. so what i did was go to settings then graphics settings and I switched the settings to memory setting in the graphics settings. then at the top right it says "resource cache enable" click that and the game should work smoothly. its worked for me so far and the game only froze when i switched graphics settings back to high graphics so that may be the problem. i would try it out. but ik that wine works out really well as well but i dont know how to use.
