Righto.

Let me preface this with a quick "yes, i still love EVE".

However.

Can someone please tell me why the F"@£$ the F!"£!Q"$"!£$ settings have to "£$"!£$!"£ disappear just because the £"$"W£$RQW"£$ EVE Online client decided its going to completely "£WE£RQW£$Q fail?

I was playing earlier, everything was fine. Travelling through amarr space, my client crashed. Big woop. It happens, i get it. So i log back in; everything is STILL FINE.

So i go buy a ship, wander through about 35-40 jumps' worth of space, no problem. Decide to log back in later when more corp mates are online.

So i go to start eve. It comes up with an error saying i need to run the repair tool.

There was no repair tool.

So i run that automagic eve updater thing. Which took a while, but fair enough.... so now i log back in to find that ONCE AGAIN ALL MY SETTINGS, OVERVIEW STUFF AND EVERY OTHER TINY LITTLE BIT OF CUSTOMISATION IS GONE. AGAIN.

Im honestly sick and tired of having to re-set EVERYTHING. Why, CCP? Why is there not a magic button i can press that "snapshots" my settings - all of them - and stores them in a safe folder within My Documents?

This is the year twenty-eleven, and we're playing a game about internet spaceships and yet for some reason despite all these grand technological advancements, we still cant have the usability and functionality to SAVE IMPORTANT STUFF in case something (inevitably) goes wrong?
