No more FTL "FTL drive charged" bing sound?!

Thank gawd

The animation for target destroyed needs seriously speeding up. Far too slow, far too intrusively flashy, far too fit-inducing.

Whelp there goes the “gong” drinking game, best played when salvaging.

Well, it was useful to have a clearly distinguishable auditory notification whenever a target went pop while sporadically alt+tabbing between eve and a bunch of other windows. The sound was annoying, but convenient to know exactly when to alt+tab back and lock new targets.

One way to have the best of both worlds would be to have the actual sound of the target's destruction (explosion or otherwise) in place of the "gong", and have it be unaffected by doppler shift unless the camera is looking at said target (in which case you'll hear the pop anyway). [I know salvaging wrecks and mining roids doesn't trigger loud explosions, but the sound notification was only advantageous in combat situations anyway.]

Or, in the long run, allow a selection of different sound effects (not just different varieties of gongs, obviously). I'm sure there are some people who would love to put the sound of a train horn, chainsaw, meat grinder or a swarm of bees over this.

Aura's voice saying "Boom, Headshot!" would be absolutely hillarious too. For better or worse, idk.

I actually likedthis noise CCP, please don't remove it! its much better than the ZIZZZZZ noise we had before. I think it would be a better idea to make it a toggle than ouright remove it.

Thx for listening.

Please consider to put toggle for at least "cosmetic" features in the future.

We should be able to choose what we want to hear/see at least for the things that does not affect even ground for PVE or PVP or every activity in the game.

I would Second the Thank You,

How about Creating this concept like Overviews. A options Page, Where for Certain affects -

(npc kills, Player Kills, Salvaging, Podding, Looting everything in a Jet Can, etc)

All have options to choose what you want the sound to be (out of a list of any already in game sounds) or none at all. All of these can be traded just like the current overview. This Would allow the players to pay the game in anyway they choose to be "Their" way. Also the Giant X, Create a option to turn on / off.

So to be Clear, its not the Idea most people dislike, Its the overwhelming and overpowering choice of a sound that's the problem.

New Content IS OK wanted and expected but creating and mandating cosmetic changes should have a second, a third, a fourth look, and then have the option to override. Things like coding a new camera because the old one is running on outdated code is bound to happen, but baby steps should be the name of the game.

Hey, friends.

Super quick. We heard you on the new sound effect introduced in yesterday's patch and we're disabling it as of tomorrow's downtime while we take a second look at it's purpose and design.

Thanks for the feedback. And for anyone who really likes the new effect - you have until tomorrow to record it.

Thanks for listening to the players Big smile

It requires more work than disabling it.
More effort (or rather hastily concived), like the "online status of buddy listed characters checked more often" feature?

Ah thank you for removing it, I though I had loaded an 80's spectrum/C64 game when I heard it.
Although some people seem to like it, so a toggle may be more appropriate.

Personally I would like to have the toggle effect of that suggested above: Aura's voice "Headshot!" for when you alpha a target rofl ;D

Thank you! I really considered to stop playing for good after two anomalies.

Unfortunately the flashing cross is still there. Not as annoying as the gong, but still...

But again: thank you!

Please, give us an option to use the old animation. The red cross without any sound is as bad as the gong.

If it takes such a short time from introduction to "oops, lets disable it" why did it get made, tested and implemented in the first place?
