Okay so my computer still has vista, and i'm to broke to do anything about it.

But Vista likes to do this.

All the time.

The hard drive hitting 100% makes playing games unbearably twitchy, and I have no clue what it's even doing. I don't download almost anything, I don't have much of anything installed, and I don't even look at porn on it.

So what is so important for vista has to clog the **** up whenever the hell it feels like it? That whole list is "svchost".

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

The videocard is the only thing new, I even put a second 2gb stick of ram from a scrapped computer.

It's still got an https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Live! in it. dual core 2.4ghz, which is another the reason videogames run sub optimally because the videocard is an Nvidia Geforce gtx 750. I've never seen the processor be the biggest issue why games run slow. Space engineers completely stopped working after the game was updated a bunch because it literally became too much.

But no. I got no clue if it can run windows 7, it's old. It's an HP pavilion desktop.

Well, just keep it in your mind. If you want it later, just send an ingame mail.

Ubuntu is free, very user friendly these days and if you follow a guide you can install it side by side with your Windows operating system.

need more data. off the top of my head that will keep cloning if a driver or something is broken, like your pint spoiler will make that clone, or you picked up a virus/malware. Run any and all anti virus programs you got first. if they find nothing, make sure your drivers are all up to date. baring that, make sure your printer is not stuck in a spooling loop, and if that snot it then last thing is a faulty program or piece of hardware, which means you will need to isolate which program is causing the pc to go bonkers and remove it.

Or upgrade to a better os.

Hope this helps:

If that won't help, then it's time to think of malware.

hard to fix under $150-$200.
but if you have systems (sw/hw) worth more, you may do it.

vista is less stable than xp and if you run it on the internet it is even worst.
I still run a cannon scanner on XP and it will not be connected to the internet for obvious reasons.
the scanner also is not compatible with other OS.

Turn off the search and indexing services in services.msc and set your cache to a fixed size.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

http://www.wikihow.com/Tweak-Vista can be a good start to disable unwanted thing.

Also in the "task scheduler" i recently disable winsat that use to disable the aero theme to perform some benchmark, not great while gaming late in the night!
tune the windows update to not download automatically too (but there should not be too much update for vista now i guess)
i also disabled superfetch/readyboot when i was running vista

A good backup is worth $60 and works with AC, like a breeze no sweat.

Worth not wroth and works not worth.

Edit:
If you don't know what you're doing it could become a high worth piece of custodian junk with little IP or micro IP.
