Hi guys... Thanks to the postings here and some keyboard-headbanging, I finally got Eve running in Centos 6.7/Wine 1.8, which is great, as I definitely want to wean myself away from Windows as much as possible.

It runs pretty well, with my i5-3770 and ATI R7 260, I'm getting about 40FPS in Linux (60+ in Windows) at 1980x1200, but I'm wondering if I can do better. One thing that has me wondering is that Eve thinks I have a "Radeon HD 5800 Series" card (Windows Eve correctly sees the R7, btw)

I installed the latest Linux Catalyst drivers without issue, and Catalyst seems to see it as the R7... Is there somewhere in the Wine prefix or config where I would need to go back and specify the card type or something similar?

I'm not "seeing" anything, but, Lord help me, sometimes I ain't the sharpest tack... :D And while I'm reasonably familiar with RHEL/Centos OS stuff from a "work" perspective, Wine is not part of my normal doings.

Thanks for any suggestions, feel free to call me dumbass as well, if justified. :D

It's wine videocard detection. A known non-issue.

You may want to try latest kernel + latest mesa + radeonsi driver + wine with galliumNine patches. I think I had much better performance on an old HD4870 this way.

Then again, I didn't compare it with catalyst. THEN again, I don't think by the time I've tried HD4870 was supported by catalyst.

Thanks, Torgeir... I'll look into that.

Yes, the gallium stack with nine work better on my side to.

Radeon 7970 wrongly identified when using Catalyst but reported as a 7900 series when i'm using Mesa.
