I looked at several of my ships, and the fittings have become impossible. What happened to my poor Geddons is just criminal... though there were times when I would have paid blood for that 4th mid slot... I think I'll set some time aside this weekend to dive deeper. On closer inspection I see several models have changed, good for the Apoc, not co great for the Domi, I liked that little guy on the bottom. They aren't space potatos anymore..

Anyway thanks all for posting why you love the game. If nothing else it's been fun to visit again.

I was still playing due to not wanting to lose my hard earned SP, but that is less of a reason now with injectors so am currently pondering.

About graphics in 3 year span: there were major changes how ships and structures are shown, there was PBR, multiple passes of meterial and hue of the defaut looks. People wanted spaceships to look like they used to. So nothing really revolutionary, rather evolution. Some ships were addes, some redesigned. But not all of them.

Planets, star box and nebulas were not changed, beside putting nebulas in front of star texture box. They made stars indicating starsystems blink sporadically, like you would be under atmoshere of some sort. Thats dumb.

Some effects like small asteroids were added in many places. Ship engines now spew more realistic flames. Damage and shield is now visualised on the ship.

But if you dont see any change, its maybe because you are still using directx9.

After reading the forums you'd have to be insane to subscribe to the game.

HOWEVER... after playing the game, reading the forums is a hoot :)
