As asked in title: who can see covert cyno fields?

Just friendly covops? all friendlies/fleet members? or everyone?

And what about regular cyno fields?

Covert cynos are visible to everyone on the grid they are active on.

Normal cynos are visible to everyone in the system they are active in.

So this means there is practically no way to sneak a non-covops fleet into a system?

And to sneak a covops fleet it, you would have to make the cyno in the middle of nowhere?

Or right ontop of what you want to kill yes.
The local spike is pretty obvious too, people tend to get squirrelly when that 1 suspicious neutral in system suddenly becomes 15, particularly if you cant see them, kinda give people the hebejebes.

Hell 0ne suspicious neutral is enough to send people mewling to the forums if they can't see it.

Yeah, I wish they would fix/remove Local, kinda ruins stealth ops.

i was under the impression that an un-docked Black Ops Battleship could also see covert cynos in system, without being on grid with them.

i could be so very, very wrong.

But a out of system fleeted black ops would be able to see the cyno and open a jump gate to it still, right?

Yes. Only those in fleet or on grid can see when and where a covert cyno has been lit. Any fleet members not on grid with the cyno will only be able to see the system it has been lit in not its exact location.
