Blaster range bonus - percent boost vs base range boost

Some hybrid ships enjoys a bonus to range. Bonus to ranges are applied by percentage. Because of the way percentage bonus works, blasters benefit the least since they have such a small base range. The greater the base you start with, the greater boost you get from percent-based bonus.

Case in point: Auxiliary Power Cores on frigates vs Reactor Control Units.

It's all in the base values.

Start applying range bonus to the base range of blasters attributes?

This is a pretty bad idea, right?

Not really. The hybrid ship bonuses have been thought this way so that ships who gets range bonuses are Rail Gun ships and those who get tracking speed bonuses are blaster ships. Example: The Naga and the Talos.
