if I ever launch drones they are sentries and they sit next to me ready to be scooped. I always carry a flight of scout drones to deal with web/scram ships but almost never need to use them. People keep talking about some change to drone aggro but I haven't seen it.

So you sit motionless and take full damage? I was told I was supposed to move around as fast as possible against NPCs to mitigate damage.

as with most things in eve it depends. my tengu with a small booster is almost completely reliant on speed to tank missions but in my mach when I'm doing 1300+ dps it really doesn't matter, I can sit in the middle of a group of NPCs and shred them before my tank even feels it. Plus with bs turrets I usually dont even want to move too fast, or else I'm going to lose damage because I can't track the npcs. Also as fast as possible doesn't really make sense to me as using an MWD all the time would drain all my cap. Moving around with an AB is far more sustainable and can work on a bunch of ships. On some of the longer missions it makes sense to move around as that does reduce incoming damage as well as put you in a better position to either hit targets or get to the next objective. typically if I have to move around a lot I'd only launch light drones, or maybe heavies if I know they won't go more than ~20km from me.
