Group 2, which I belong to, is the "Leave me alone" group. We don't hate null space - have at it. You can be killing each other out there all you want, 24/7.
What group 2 wants is a safe haven, a part of the space safe from other players, at all times. We're tired of the hate and the killing, especially pointless killing followed by mocking. I'd ban anybody who ever chatted the word "tears" to anyone.

It's easy to tear stuff down; it's much harder to build and protect.


Mate, I hate to break it to you, but you're playing completely the wrong game, if that's what you really want.

EVE = open-world, non-consensual PvP-based sandbox, and that's what makes it what it is. Full-stop, end-of!

And that's coming from an Empire-space/wormhole, kinda-sorta-but not really carebearish player!

(NB: For the uninformed chest-beating null-tards--Losec = empire space too.)

Well not everyone is a hater; if you band up with like-minded individuals you can live other, arguably better, ideals in this sci-fi fantasy world as well. A core concept of my allice (and our ancestor the original HYDRA) is that the best ship in eve is friendship.

I do agree that maybe standard hisec pve, mining etc income should be taken as an index value and the lowsec & nullsec ones adjusted accordingly, taking into account the increased risk, but that's just internet economics not hate.

it is true there is hate and some say that eve is about winning. to them say - eve is about honour.

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

Most of the haters are RL sociopaths, they play up in game because if the acted that way in RL then they would end in Jail or an early grave.

Sociopaths like to have power over others. They consider people who dont have power to be weak and insignificant because they cant understand that there are people who dont share their lust for power and control.

Pity them, but dont bother talking to them.

But seriously, I don't think its really a hate thing. More about respect and intimidation. A mind frack if you will.

The threat of destruction is a psychological weapon that has proven itself to be very effective. Frankly I am impressed by its use in this game and is one of the few things that draws me back in. The bantering and posturing is rather delicious foreplay.

ask yourself how many of those "bears" are really 0.0 alts? you might be surprised by the answer Cool

I assume you refer to the null players who come up to be ninjas/flippers/gankers/greif decers as the haters. But it's not really hate. For the majority, there's about as much hate directed towards them as you direct at those red plusses you shoot in your mission. They act a certain way, and they'll drop certain rewards when you kill them, and they're of little consequence no matter how many threats they spam local with.

That being said, this whole coversation is packed with idiots on both sides of the divide that are missing the truth of the eve experience.

They don't realize that many (maybe most) people in this game are bispacial (or really omnispacial if you will) like bonobos. They slide back and forth between the various regions experiencing the thrill of each. They pump life into each region as they explore the deepest reaches of known and virgin space enjoying their diverse gaming oportunities. Their pods becoming steamy and cloudy overburdening their cleaning systems and filters as they . . .
