Hello everyone!
We're planning a huge set of module tiericide in our March release and this thread will serve as the feedback location for changes to Sensor Dampeners.

This is one of the simpler sets of module changes in this release. The power level of the group as a whole isn't changing significantly.

As part of these changes, we're upgrading EWAR like Sensor Dampeners to our new falloff system. This will make the falloff for Sensor Dampeners work more intuitively (more like guns). As your range increases in falloff, the strength of the damp on your target will decrease. In comparison, the current version of damp falloff is chance based and rolls a virtual die to determine if you get a full strength paint or have no effect.

Here's the most recent iteration of the numbers:

We're very interested in your feedback on all these changes. We'll be releasing them to Singularity next week if all goes well, so that you can try these and all the other module changes planned for the March release. Please use this thread for passing along your feedback, and we'll be reading.

Thanks!

Alas, I still can't see a real reason to fit t2 over the phased muon. Just saying

More optimal/falloff and more strenght on T2.

Seems fine.

The change to falloff on damps is really nice, and it makes sense! It also means you'll never have a "missed" damp again - just less effective or more effective! I like, a lot! ♥

No Faction or Officer versions?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Given the nature of the falloff formula, shouldn't the falloff become half what it is now so that at 2x falloff (which is what the current falloff is) you have almost no effect?

In other words, the remote sensor damp II should have a falloff of 30km so that at 90km (30 optimal + 2x falloff of 30) it's weak enough to be ineffective? Otherwise it's going to have a reach of 150km!

I like it... but could we please get some faction variants of these? It would make sense for Gallente navy (at least) to have a slightly improved version.

At least T2 damps are ballpark for stats compared to NPC drop stuff.

This is one of those exceptions I guess

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

If Sensor Boosters are getting ECCM added to them, shouldn't Sensor Damps get an ECCCM effect added?
