Just a heads up to everyone that missed this. If you have reverted to the old camera (like me). CCP have stated that they will remove the option, and leave you flying with the new camera as the only camera option.

Quote from dev blog:
Quote:
Since changes to fundamental parts of core gameplay systems can be delicate, we’ve decided to keep the option of reverting to the old camera for about 1 month as of now.

I personally have serious issues with part of my everyday gameplay beeing just deleted from the game.

It's the Incarna bs all over again.

They have the option to go back to the now "legacy" map and "legacy" scanning techniques, I'm baffled as to why they cannot/will not do the same for this new awful camera.

With the new camera angles and settings, I get what I assume is pretty bad motion sickness - I really hope that they don't remove the old camera settings permanently. :(

Its become quote obvious I think. Included with the new camera are changes to the tracking camera that effect gameplay and make it easier for lp farmers and miners to escape. The addition of extra key presses to track objects on overview and taking away the ability of tracking camera to watch the direction a ship is traveling when it enters warp. I havent logged in today but supposedly they have partially restored tracking ships as they enter warp but only if you are on grid with them and tracking them before they begin the process. Which essentially means any ship sitting and spamming dscan will still be untrackable and uncatchable. So long as the old camera is available they cant save the bears so it therefore must be removed.

Carebears and farmers everywhere should be celebrating. Its apparent that CCP have decided to put all their efforts into making their lives easier. It seems eve is well on its way to becoming nothing but a gold farm. I fully expect input broadcasting to be unbanned any day now.

EDIT: Apparently the fact that you can't track ships that have already initiated the warp process is unintended so I retract. :) Now if they will just get rid of all the camera inertia and give us back toggled camera tracking instead of requiring constant shortcut use things will start to look up.

Good, the new camera is superior in literally every way. If you're still using the old camera after seeing what the new one can do you have serious issues.

Make that four.

Honestly, if they take the old cameras away I'll be forced to stop playing. I've adapted to the new neocom, overview icons, colors, map, and all the other crap, but I can't adjust to the nausea the new camera gives me. This is the same thing that keeps me from playing first person shooters.

Yes, I have actual physical issues with the new camera. By all means, switch to the new camera, just don't force some of us to choose between the urge to actually vomit while playing EvE or no EvE at all.

Lol, this is a joke right? You mean seen the new camera and what it "can't" do. Like a functioning tracking camera. Drifting all over the place, inducing nausea and being harder to control and manipulate in general do not count as things it "can do." A first person camera is not a feature, it's non-functional fluff.

I highly recommend you read the official feedback thread and get an idea of what ppl who actually undock and fight in EvE think.

…apart from the missing features, the lack of control, the lack of precision, the lack of sensible shortcuts, and the nonsensical focus on stuff that isn't your ship.

None of the new cameras serve any useful purpose (the tactical camera would, except that the mechanics it is meant to support aren't in the game yet) and none of them can replace the old camera for such rare tasks as flying manually, scanning, keeping track of your target, and having quick and easy situational awareness.

Same, and I'm fairly certain it's due to the reduced FOV.

If anyone knows if it's possible to increase the FOV on the new camera, please let me know.

Have you tried unchecking all of the camera options? I find that more or less (but emphasis on 'less', really) that brings things back to normal.

CCP - acknowledge the problems this 'upgrade' causes, please!

Yes, absolutely, we should just peg our extreme physical discomfort caused by this to our stupidity

Thanks, turning off "dynamic field of view" helped, but I still get this nauseating, almost claustrophobic feeling with the new camera on, it's hard to explain.

I really feel like CCP are just reinventing the wheel here, why can't they just leave the old camera as an option?

o man the QQ here love it. You can not stop changes people deal with it or quit. Making QQ post in GN is standard those days but come on. Stop doing it. If you get motion sickness buy a smaller screen or stop playing spinning ship in station.

The new camera looks nice and all but I'm really not liking the lack of center tracking camera.

Too bad that neither of those “solutions” actually address (or have anything to do with) the issue at hand.

But you're right — QQ:ing in GD makes no difference and there's a thread for feedback that's filled with complaints and CCP slooooooooooowly grasping tiny details that aren'y working with their “awesome” idea.

Then again, this is not a QQ thread but rather a warning that a core feature of the game will be removed in a month, as mentioned in passing in a dev blog.
