Drone salvage vs modual Salvage

I recently have been doing a lot of missions, and therefore a lot of salvage. I have noticed i am getting a noticeable amount less "no salvage" results with drones then with my noctis. Has anyone else noticed that? It may just be luck but if more people notice it maybe we could run some data on it. Just my thoughts.

I've never noticed and actually heard rumors the other way around (which I've always dismissed). If anything I'd personally say it's either rng, or just in your head

From what I know the chances of getting or not getting loot is not influenced by how you salvage it, only how fast the wreck can be salvaged

The reason for this is, if you use five salvage drones, you essentially roll the dice five times every cycle instead of just once for every salvager. So even though the maximal salvaging chance of salvage drones is far lower then the chance you can get with max skills + T2 salvager, you roll five times instead of one time, which gives you near 100% chance of salvaging for most wrecks.

If you just want to salvage a large ball of low-tier wrecks, turning a bunch of drones loose is better than manually assigning your normal salvagers.

The thing is though, high-tier wrecks like faction NPC-wrecks, T2-player wrecks and most Sleeper-wrecks won't be salvaged this way. The highest possible chance of salvaging a drone can have is lower than some of the really high-class wrecks you can find, which means five dice rolls with zero chance. The results are predictable.

So in short, if you want to clean up after player-battles, in wormholes or in combat anomalies/signatures with faction NPCs, use salvagers.

In missions you can basically replace a Noctis with a mobile tractor unit and a bunch of drones. As far as I know, no mission will ever give you a wreck drones can't salvage, so T2-salvagers and the like are total overkill.

That's not how it works.

Wrecks either have salvage upon their creation, or they don't. Salvage items are created at wreck creation time.

Beyond that, only time to salvage is variable.

Rogue drones often don't have salvage. I think this is likely a feature / bug by-product of the removal of Rogue Drone alloys.

That always makes me laugh, My CEO back when i was in a noob corp thought that you got more salvage from better salvage skills ect. He was very unhappy when i told him other wise (after having finished salvaging 5).
