To give a sense of the size of the markets, the total value of sell orders was (last time I checked):

Jita: 32 trillion
Amarr: 8T
Dodi: 4.5T
Rens: 3T
Hek: 2T

One big factor though is that Jita has more players with truly massive stockpiles of items.

For instance, in Dodixie if a given ship (say the Lachesis, a 180 million ISK ship) sells out, there's probably not anyone with 500 units of them sitting in their hangar waiting for this moment to put 20 on the market at an insanely high price.

In Jita, there is. This impacts the market somewhat.

The only ship I'm aware of anyone having a truly massive stockpile of in Dodixie is the Skiff. In Jita, there's probably a quadrillion ISK or more worth of assets sitting in player hangars. Dodixie would be lucky to have fifty trillion.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

It is a little nerve wracking sometimes to undock and hear the sounds of combat.

EVE has sound?

Of course I have an instant-undock bookmark (Jita 4 - Moon 1 is aligned with the 4-4 undock), so I don't stick around after undocking.

Yea, I use insta-undocks. Been spending the last month planting insta-undocks all over stain. and the new interface changes make it much easier for precise insta planting.

But even with an insta, if the timing of that BOOM sound happens right as I undock, it's still a bit nerve wracking.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I should mention that once in my over 7 years have I had my freighter probed after un-docking from Jita. A Macherial quickly arrived near me, target-locked me so I couldn't logoff, and began bumping me. I assume he scanned my cargo, because he stopped bumping me and warped away.

Though I will occasionally haul large ISK value cargo into Jita via the low-population "backdoor" systems that seem never to be watched, I certainly wouldn't do that via the high-population major "front-door" systems, nor leaving Jita.

I've also once in 7 years lost a Crane Blockade Runner in Jita, because I was distracted (my cargo was empty, so I wasn't as attentive) and warped to the station instead of my instant-dock bookmark. One volley from a Tornado is all it took. I wasn't upset about it at all; the moment I entered warp I knew I had made a mistake. The Tornado pilot seems to make a career out of playing the Blockade Runner lottery, and lost this time with me since my cargo was empty, but most of the time he wins with other pilots.
