PIE theft.

We all know how pie works. But I noticed you can avoid taxes if you put in effort to launch your belongings from the command center.

You fly over nab the stuff and gonezies. Now these containers last for 4 days, and can be launched from any system, unlike with the actual customs office.

What if a sattalite deployable could be put onto a planet to detect planetary launches, for theft, or other nefarious purposes. If you scoop immediately there's almost no issue, if you put it there for 4 days till you get around to it, someone should be able to detect launches. For balance purposes I'd say already launched goodies aren't detected when you place a deployable.

The containers only spawn in space after you click "warp to". This would be like those vacum units for pos's. I've always wondered what their fate will be.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Rocket launches from a command center or launch pad are prohibitively expensive and of very small volume. Is anyone actually doing them on a regular basis to bring stuff up from a planet?

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Generally only on planets with no pocos or worth extremely high tax pocos. You know the sinarios this launch mechanistic is designed to balance.

I wouldn't mind if siphon units worked on pocos though

I stole someone else's planetary launch once. I did it with angled d-scan, a MWD Incursus, intelligent usage of geometric warping and bookmarking, and a fair bit of patience.

I wish planetary launches were bigger. Maybe there should be an alternative launchpad facility that allows you to launch a large package into orbit instead to a customs office. It should just give you a smaller volume than the launchpad (maybe 1000m3) and the package should be probable, with its signature radius dependent on the volume of goods.

Also the new facility should be called launchpad and the old launchpad should be called spaceport.
