Hi. Not much of a forum poster, but here goes.

I have been reading a lot since picking up the game. The last time I played was almost eight years ago, and admittedly I never cared much for the backstory. Not that I thought it was bad, I simply didn't have the interest. But... I am interested in taking an immersive approach to things now, so I've looked to the Chronicles, though there are a ton to wade through. I would like to flesh out my character out as a 'person' and want to fill the gaps.

If ~30% of Federation citizens are Minmatar, and I want to write this character as a foster child of Gallente parents, what's a good way to explain the fact that I begin the game in Pator Tech School? If Gallente attitudes toward culture are more or less patronizing, would a 'cultural enrichment' journey of discovery even be appealing to someone raised with a sense of superiority? Could there be some sort of political arrangement where foster parents are granted some kind of incentive to reintroducing Minmatar to the Republic?

I am still reading so it is quite possible I haven't found the obvious answer. But... if the forum dwellers have links, criticisms, or advice, who am I to argue?

((Wrong forum, might want eve fiction. As a char with a similar kind of thing (minmatar from Gallante space) my character went back to her homeland to go to school. Though my char is more so trying to return to the fold more so. Hope that helps))

In the land of make-believe that is RP, why not just claim you graduated from CAS (Center for Advanced Studies)? I think the only place it makes an appearance is in your corp history, ancestry and such only in your characters sheet, and as a roleplayer you can claim otherwise on your bio, and in my books that supercedes your corp history.

I'm of the line that thinks not everything you do has to fall in line with in-game actions, especially if it is not even possible through game mechanics.

Okay, I will take a look at the school-related info and work something up. Just wanted to avoid the dreaded Mary Sue.

Thanks again.

There is a great section in the EVE: Source book on demographics and education. Even the Caldari have a section on school and upbringing.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the book right now however someone might be able to reference a few sections for you until I unpack it. But that might be a good start.

Thanks Tavin. I checked and it is in the Google Play store, so I picked it up. Will read when I get a chance.
