Returning after a long break and wondering how much it costs to run a POS nowadays?

Lets just assume full load on CPU/PG on all sizes.

Mainly interested in Amarr towers (All sizes).

EDIT: Have I missed something or does it really cost ~220mil/month to run a MEDIUM POS??

Sounds about right. My spreadsheet (for which I haven't updated prices for a week) says about 400 mil a month for large tower and medium is half of that, so... Fuel prices have spiked a bit due to the upcoming Fuel Block conversion - lots of fuel already tied up in blocks and the rollout of their usage was pushed to late January, so many had to scourge up more fuel (or reprocess blocks, which anyone with spare ISK probably didn't want to do).

You should not run one unless you are doing something profitable with it. Duh.

I would expect POS fuel prices to come down a bit in January as this abnormal fuel demand spike passes.

Pretty much this. Also forget assuming "full CPU/PG utilisation" from 24 January onwards. The new fuel blocks need 150/150 Ozone/H. Water to manufacture.

Note that you get 40 blocks per run. Utilisation per hour is 40/20/10.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Over the summer (numbers off the top of my head): 125 / 185 / 340 (ISK/30d). Maybe as low as 115 / 195 / 310.

October prices for a max CPU, max PG tower:

Amarr: 151 / 231 / 392
Caldari: 158 / 245 / 421
Gallente: 190 / 310 / 549
Minmatar: 174 / 276 / 482

Nov 3rd prices:

Amarr: 136 / 213 / 367
Caldari: 137 / 215 / 371
Gallente: 172 / 283 / 507
Minmatar: 139 / 219 / 379

Estimated cost of a tower using fuel pellets using Nov 7th prices:

Amarr: 87 / 171 / 341
Caldari: 90 / 178 / 354
Gallente: 122 / 241 / 480
Minmatar: 89 / 175 / 348

Nov 23rd prices (using old-style fuel, maxed out CPU/PG):

Amarr: 139 / 219 / 379
Caldari: 142 / 225 / 392
Gallente: 228 / 396 / 734
Minmatar: 144 / 228 / 397

Guesstimate prices on Dec 4th of the new fuel pellet costs (per-unit costs for pellets assume zero-waste manufacturing with no mark-up):

Amarr: 119 / 221 / 425 - 14768 ISK/u
Caldari: 121 / 225 / 435 - 15099 ISK/u
Gallente: 189 / 362 / 708 - 24578 ISK/u
Minmatar: 122 / 227 / 438 - 15225 ISK/u

Coolant - 11.7k
Enriched Uranium - 14.0k
Mech Parts - 11.8k
Oxygen - 529
Robotics - 83.9k
HW - 220
Isotopes - 437-483 (Oxytopes at 1419)
LOz - 461

Dec 12th prices (max CPU/PG, old style fuel and new style fuel):

Amarr: 155 / 245 / 426
Caldari: 156 / 247 / 429
Gallente: 245 / 424 / 783
Minmatar: 158 / 250 / 435

Amarr: 102 / 201 / 400 - 13900 ISK/u
Caldari: 103 / 203 / 403 - 14002 ISK/u
Gallente: 181 / 360 / 718 - 24919 ISK/u
Minmatar: 104 / 205 / 409 - 14197 ISK/u

Guessed at price for the upcoming 2 months: 107 / 212 / 423 (14.69k ISK/u for fuel pellets).

The POS fuel market is very cyclic and often varies as much as +/- 25% over the course of a year as the underlying component prices rise and fall. Right now, it's a good time to be a producer of POS fuels. But by March, prices will probably have fallen again and you'll want to be a buyer of fuels in anticipation of the next price spike during the summer.

Damn, guess I will wait till January for the new fuel blocks.

Why did they postpone it? Wasnt it supposed to come few weeks after Crucible?

They tested the switch code, and POSes Died in Fires. The decided running that code on TQ might be inadvisable.
