Improving the User Experience

I'll be frank w/ you. Your post made me see you as some self declared gaming industry UX 'expert' that has completed a 2 month trial of eve and w/ that 'experience' you are willing to help this poorly implemented game you've just stumbled upon. You're like that new kid fresh out of school that thinks he has the big picture.

Most of this game has little to do w/ the UI - the UI isn't the key to the UX. A lot of the standard things that make other games great and fun to play are trivial footnotes in eve game play. That being said, I like your spunk. I recommend you take a step back and see the bigger game, the really intriguing parts and focus less on what the captain's quarters is like. The game isn't played docked in station, it's played in chat channels, 3 party comms and sometimes in space with guns.
