CCP be nerfing the suicide gankers =/ they take away the 1 million isk we get back on insurance for our destroyer hordes =(

Got better proposition ..

All who like to fly hulks.. Lets band together and join some null industrial corp under some known alliance.. And mine, built carriers and supercarriers and profit...

Do what you claim you doing... Do stuff for greater power to ensure victory through supply of combat ships.

That sure sounds like a nice system.... doesn't seem right that you should be keeping it all to yourselves. I like to mine and explore too, can I come and share it?

If anyone has any intel on the system name, I would sure like to go take a look.

I am (or rather our group is) in the mining industry trading business.
Our pilots train themselves in PvP to defend us or strike back. This is EvE you know.

This is what you signed up for, it is not like its a secret or something that people will want to blow your stuff up and probably profit from that indirectly by selling you a new ship. Think man!

Selling the ore is pvp.
Mining the ore before someone else does is pvp.
Getting ganked is pvp
shooting at the kind people cleaning up cans of ore miners clearly do not want is pvp
building a ship and then selling it is pvp.
ect ect..


Meh, I get your point, but people never use the term "pvp" in that way outside of these threads.
If someone posts in Ships and Modules asking for a "pvp fit Megathron", they're not looking for something to efficiently mine or farm level 4 missions.

I mine in a hulk... when I'm bored. And I am fully against such a proposition.


Think of the poor ice miners who are losing brain cells as they chip away on a mechanic that CCP desperately needs to work on.


Joking aside, suicide ganking is a part of this game, intended and well advertised (as well as anything is). If you don't want to deal with it, you are in the wrong game.

Everything in this game, aside from ship spinning is PvP.

Here's a big hint: By announcing to all and sundry that you do not care to PvP in ships and fight back, you have probably just tagged yourself for a larger then usual amount of griefing. People may decide to add you to their contact lists, run locator agents on you when you login, then come visit you in your missions / belts to see whether you're flying something worth ganking.

If you want to survive as a miner in EVE you need to:

- Fit a DC2 (generally means giving up one of your MLUs)
- Use tanking rigs instead of cargo rigs
- Stay off the beaten path (do not mine along a major travel route).
- Avoid systems with more then 20 in local.
- Make sure all known gank corps are tagged -5. Maybe tag NPC corps as -5 too.
- Fly cheap, fly insured.
- Never smack talk in local / private chats.
- Don't announce what you're doing to the world and don't give out location intel.
- Don't leave combat drones out unless you are killing a NPC rat spawn.

Hey let's focus Mining not on excavation and time, but rather on prospecting and finding ores.

Let it be very difficult search for precious materials with asteroid composition scanner, before actual extraction can begin. (scan 12 rocks, move scan another 5 - strike omber)

Let it be complicated tracking and scanning of drifting asteroid fields - it will not be possible by bots, so real opportunities of exploration and profit come to care and science friendly capsuleers. (rocks drift across galaxy, some traveling and scientific observation is needed to dertermine systems where rocks may shifted)

New rocks are born everyday as space objects collide and crush, it is that they are moving between star systems and often locate themselves on outer borders of stellar systems gravity wells.

CCP I'll help you revamp it.

It's already banned. Ships that shoot other ships in hisec are destroyed very quickly.

I sometimes mine, not in a Hulk but in a retriever. When a griefer try to canbait or gank me I either wait for him to get bored/destroyed, then with my band of noob corpmates we gatecamp/stationcamp him, show our muscles, get destroyed or destroy them, exchange GFs and laugh a bunch.

I feel like it's how the game should be played if you want to have fun, or you'll be miserable forever in EVE. Too many people see it as some sort of second job and are just too serious about it !

You will never convince suicide gankers to stop suicide ganking and anyhow why should they. You just have to hope CCP implement better game mechanics to properly punish them. At the moment there is no mechanic and apart from the loss of a cheap ass frigate or destroyer its just free ISK/kills for the ganker.

Funny thing is if you post a suggestion the suicide ganker tears and cries of how unfair it is is as funny to carebears as miners complaining about being ganked is to suicide gankers.
