Dust 514 Integration Through EVE's PI

I have no idea of how CCP pictures their connection between EVEs space perspective and the roaming of planet mercenary hordes, but i have a suggestion to bond the two.

I played the game Battlefield 2142 many years ago, and the idea just came to me too integrate portion of its game play with EVE.

The introduction of the planetary shooter style of game play to EVEs PI interface.

In BF 2142 as the commander of one forces you were given the ability of a top down view zooming in through the clouds; by which you could view all the players running around (not just colored dots of soldiers) and have a detailed vision of the city. The " Orbital Barrages " were certainly fun. The titan interface in BF 2142 could be a Ship of EVE entering the planets atmosphere, "which could be an option of a right click on the planet. " The entering of the atmosphere would be a load session and we'd get the view of a stationary ship (BF 2142's Titan, but our own unique ship models of EVE can be used) hovering over a vast landscape. The ship in BF2142 was movable by one individual ( Since we're all single commanders of our ship it applies).

Enough said, take a look, and Try out the Commander interface to understand how great that would tie Dust 514 to EVE.

P.S.
Cheers to a bright future for EVE and Dust 514 integration.

They are on it.

Colossal. Imposing. Devastating. Any of these words could describe the MCC, but only one truly sums it up: Control. The MCC is the nerve center of any army, the backbone upon which wars are waged and battles won. It is from here, locked within the confines of a modified hydrostatic pod, that the commander orchestrates the fate of those on the ground below. He does so having never set foot on the battlefield, but with the collective knowledge and situational awareness of every unit that has. If knowledge is power, it is the commander who wields it.

Looks like CCP is well on their way to what I pictured, now my question is whether or not multiple of those ships can be on one team at a time, and then be able to leave the atmosphere and contend with the ships of EVE. With a size of 200m that puts them in the range of a cruiser class.

I'm sure theres a stright forward way of contracting out invasions to Dust 514 players; (a contract panel containing a certain amount of isk for a job.) I would like to see them have to travel through the space of EVE in ships contracted to them that are capable of transtioning between planet and space. For Dust 514 players that would mean travel time instead of clicking the contract and atomatically appearing at the planets surface. Make them work for it : p and bring some more targets to space. : )

I understand that the sight of seeing frigates descends upon a planet battlefield and start shooting around the battlefield would souds nice. However, those ships aren't made for planetary landing really. When hovering over a planet, the ship has to somehow counter gravity. MCCs are made to do that but not spaceships which mainly only have engines at the back.

They would have to completely flip so that their engines stops their fall on the planet and if they do that, unless CCP makes some kind of module like the inertia stabilizer which would be engines that goes under the belly of your ship and allows for planetary hovering.

But i doubt CCP will make such a thing happens since it would pretty much rule out mobile command centers who already fills this role and is actually the ship that travels between planets transporting the military equipment and troops.

Of course, some MCCs could be modified versions of space frigates or cruisers as well. Just an idea like that.
