Fleet Boss transfer suggestion

In the last few months I've noticed people getting wound up about random AFK boosters getting given fleet boss when the current fleet boss either DC's or just leaves and doesn't hand over boss.
The mechanic I'm suggesting is along the same lines as the flag exempt from fleet warp, however it would be a flag to accept fleet boss, with the default setting being exempt from recieving fleet boss.
If the entire fleet is set exempt from recieving fleet boss then the normal way of handing over fleet boss automatically would apply.

Or,... Don't use AFK boosters?

I second this suggestion. If we could set a list of players for fleet boss to go to in the event of dc/ing that would be good. Then if boss switches to someone automatically, and they don't click to accept it within a set time, it goes to the next person on the previously set list.

It's not just about AFK boosters, but that fleet boss can go to AFK members in general.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

This more than anything. It's part player and part client. Ultimately players are responsible for passing fleet boss to another active player. That is just best practice when running fleets. However it is literally roulette when the fc spot disconnects. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to who it goes to in those cases. That is on the client/server side.

The quick solution IMO would be to follow the fleet order - so if the boss disconnects, it goes to the highest rank in fleet, if he is not present then drop down to next level...

So FC becomes the boss, if not present, then one of wing commanders, if there are none, then one of squad leaders and finally any squad memeber.

And yes, I am fully aware that FC and WC positions are usually filled by boosters Twisted
