Cannot Log into Game Client due to : authentication token

I am having a login issue: ''The authentication token provided by the launcher is of an invalid format. Please try again or contact EVE customer support.'' since yesterday.

Note I also have searched across previous forum threads prior to posting here or requesting support - those who've had same issues are either outdated threads or running on other OS. I filed a petition (Support Request #109735) and since the last 10hrs, I've been in communication with the various GMs. Then again, it seems that they have run out of solutions for now.

So I'd be happy if a CCP Dev could look into my situation and find me a fix please. Fyi, I've been playing for the past 5-6 months with almost no critical issues alike this one (except for the commonly known socket errors). And I can access my Account management page, Eve Forums, etc. I can even log in my details in the launcher and start the client. But it stalls at the 'logging in authentication' notification and gives out the bug msg.

Ok found a solution to 'The authentication token provided by the launcher is of an invalid format. Please try again or contact EVE customer support' - with the help of GM Unnur. Big smile

The repair tool did not work in this case. And my I could log into my account, forum, and send support message without being able to get onto the client - even the launcher worked fine. So I'm posting the various steps to solution here, so it helps other people in the future to find a faster solution, without much hassle.

- run the Logserver application (located in your Eve folder);
- run your Launcher or Client till the point the bug emmerges;
- in Logserver click save and then send the file as attachment onto the Eve website Support/Bug report page;

Note, with my specific logsever file, the GMs found that my particular issue was due to some corrupt files in the Cached Folder. However for anyone else, it can be different. Eitherway the above steps should be ground rules.

This is how I 'repaired' my cache:

- go to your EVE installation folder (by default: C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE) and locate the file "rescache.exe"
- create a shortcut to rescache.exe
- go to the shortcut's properties and add a space and the word "purge" to the "target" line, as in: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\rescache.exe" purge
- then run it with this target: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\rescache.exe" verify
- it might take a while for each Purge and Verify process
- and then try relog into the game.
