Faction standings via missions

Yesterday I tried a cosmos mission for the first time. I was trying to get my faction standing up.
Of course i recorded a faction standing gain and two faction standing losses.
Only way to get gain with out loss I found is doing the epic arc.
Is this so? Can you gain more than you lose doing cosmos or storyline missions if you want to get all 4 empire faction standings up?

Storyline missions will generally give more overall positive standings gain than loss, but it depends who you run for. Everyone except minmatar hates the thukkers, so if you do a storyline for thukkers tribe, you will lose a lot more than gain. I think it works the same with cosmos missions. It's a shame you can only do the Plan and the epic arcs for the main 4 factions (plus the pirate factions) cos if you want to raise standings with the lesser factions as well, it's just grinding missions and trying to balance all the gains and losses.

Or you can simply use this, it works as well to boost positive standings as it does to repair negative.
